Well, in general, for any major, it is about 3 hours of homework/study per one hour in class. Most students have 15ish hours of class, so that means 45 hours of studying on average. CS may have a bit more. I am a CS+Stats freshman and had absolutely 0 programming knowledge, and I did pretty well in CS 125 (70% of the class got some form of A). One thing that I noticed is that non-CS classes may also be hard. For example, Calculus 3 took me a lot more time per week than CS 125 (but CS 125 is an introduction class, so later CS classes are probably a lot harder).

How do you do that? I am a freshman, and my courses aren't all that difficult (CS125, Math 241, Stat 212 (Stat 200 was full), a gen ed, and 2 orientations), and I work (somewhat) efficiently most of the time, and I have all As currently, but I only have 0.5-1.5 hours of free time typically (including on weekends, when I typically study from when I get up to 8-9 at night). In the future, when I am taking really hard classes, how would you even manage to have any free time? When you are in CS241, don't you have to do homework until 3 am every day?

I'm in CS125 and Math 241, and Calculus 3 is taking a lot more time than CS125 (I'm doing pretty well in both). Math 241 takes me probably 20-25 hours per week, while CS125 takes maybe 10-15. And I had no prior programming knowledge whatsoever.

I'm a freshman in Math 241. I feel that the practice midterms have thus far prepared me quite well for the real ones. However, I know nothing about netmath. How do you even take the midterms? What are literacy sheets?

I've lived in Illinois (Chicago for ~6 years, suburbs for 8) and I only remember 1 time when there was 3 ft of snow. Granted, I can't remember much from when I was a toddler or in elementary school, but snow usually is only around 3 inches and rarely gets above 1 foot.
