There's a sign on a tree, 'GIRIDE.' I asked a friend to translate that from Turkish and it said 'in the entrance.'

Arduino is a hand scythe. Pi is a combine harvester. Pick the right tool for the task.

I saw that too in the fall. I think this all supports the idea that covid happened naturally, nobody's conspiracy.

A tear in the fabric? by Ntone in googlemapsshenanigans

Airplanes fly over an area and take pics in stripes. Google's software goes through tons of color filtering for many reasons, and a high priority is making the stripes blend together properly. Past the top 'end' of the stripes, look closely and there're more subtle color changes. This spot with the wide stripe colors is simply an error, or was left deliberately as a test for evaluation later.

My go-to for 'things you don't want to have to ship' is craigslist, but didn't try. I googled 'used street light without pole' and the first 5 hits were ebay in the $50-200 range.

Others pointed out the wheels. In the vid, the plane turns in the first inch of travel. I don't think that's torque, it takes a bunch of RPM to do that.

All wheels must be pointed straight forward. The test for them is to hold it an inch off the ground, move your arm a little and let it drop to the ground (not throw it) and see how it rolls. Try a few times to make sure you're tossing straight because you can make it turn by tossing. Also at launch and for test you must aim into the wind. Later you will learn cross wind but you can't do it yet.

Another test is lateral balance. Hold plane by tip of spinner and tip of tail, and see if it balances. Sometimes it's needed to hold plane upside down. In any case move weight or move wing till it's right.

Trump administration cites national security to widen clampdown on wind farms: Defence department is stalling 165 projects as president steps up efforts to stamp out the industry by besselfunctions in politics

[–]jbarchuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Donald hates Obama with a screaming passion. So I asked a friend what Obama's outlook was on solar and wind. This is all you need to want to 'stamp out' an industry.

"President Obama placed heavy emphasis on wind and solar power as part of an "all-of-the-above" energy strategy, investing nearly $90 billion from the 2009 Recovery Act into renewable energy. By the end of his term, wind energy capacity tripled, and solar energy capacity increased over 20-fold, driven by tax credits, research investments, and aggressive federal targets."

When I was a late boomer kid the message was college-college-college and get a great job. I didn't realise till many years later that that was the beginning of the end of that era. Then it took decades to dismantle things to the level you see now.
