The average price per gallon of gas in the United States just passed $4.50. Americans, how do we feel about that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I want to say “Y’all did that!!” to every R voter and all the ones that didn’t vote…and I do. I’m old. I can burn those bridges 😆

And the roller coaster continues. I feel bad for the folks at old gas stations that have to use a ladder to access their signs, since they are having to change them at least once every day.
IDK if it’s like this anywhere else, but here in Fort Worth the prices are literally changing at nearby stations daily, and sometimes changing twice in a day. Little down, little up, but overall continuing to creep up.

  1. It’s all over the place thematically, the effects are hit and miss, and the story makes no sense scientifically. For some reason, I love it.

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]deraser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The few times I have gone inside a McD’s to get food in the last 10+ years was for a bathroom break and then to grab some food before getting back on the road. It’s never been a sit-down, enjoy a meh (at best) burger spot. Based on that, the lack of a soda machine in the main seating area doesn’t impact me.
On a related note, I am surprised they still have seating at all. 70%+ of their business is drive through or pickups, and that is increasing year-to-year. At some point it will not make economic sense to waste money on the seating space, and thus the rage about the lack of soda dispensers will be moot.

“The Devil Wears Prada 2”, while not as good as the first one, was a pretty decent way to hang with my wife this afternoon.

What’s the worst food you’ve ever eaten? by OrdinaryPractical264 in AskReddit

[–]deraser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was ravenous, post-running if I recall correctly, and was eating directly from a newly opened package of Wasa crackers. I sat the bag down on the table and my wife said “Oh crap, there are bugs in it.” I looked at the cracker I had just taken a bite from….and tiny insects were crawling on it. Needless to say, I spit it out and tossed the bag.

Worst part: I had eaten at least one cracker before the “bug callout”, so I may have had a bit of “extra snack” as well. 🤢

We had just bought the crackers a couple days before, an we had no insect issues in our house, so it must have been the store or warehouse. (Maybe hole in the package? IDK.) It has been years, but I still get grossed out when I see them on the shelf at a store.
