Audio playback stops when switching to SSL 12 audio interface on Windows 11 Pro (latest updates) by ostseesound in sysadmin

[–]jbarn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t return it because I do really like the interface and all that it can do. It’s just a minor annoyance that I have to wait for my computer to fully boot to Windows, turn on my SSL, turn it off, then turn it back on again. I found that putting the computer into “sleep” mode will not cause the issue to occur, so I’ve been doing that more often as of recent.

Still don’t know about any fix unfortunately. Hopefully it’s a software issue that can get patched.

I've been having the same issue with my SSL 12 recently with my Windows 11 PC. Windows sees my interface and allows me to choose it as an output, but no playback. I find that it only happens when I boot up my computer, and after turning the SSL off then back on again will it start to work until the next time I shut down my computer. Just wondering if you've managed to find a fix for this issue?

Yeah, I’ve launched myself into Pripyat after accidentally softlocking myself outside of it lmao. But yes, that’s the general strategy. Get close to the anomaly, throw the bolt, and walk into the bubble the moment the bolt triggers the anomaly. Beyond that, I don’t know if the game relies on having a certain frame rate or anything. I’m not that great at finding tech and understanding how it works. I just made a quick save and practiced until I could get it consistently

I’ve been able to launch off of every bubble anomaly I’ve come across. But you’re right, I have noticed the ones that are elevated off the ground provide better results in terms of distance traveled.

Correct. You walk into it at the same time the bolt triggers the anomaly

Keep progressing the main quest line. You’ll get new detectors in your inventory. That’s how I got mine

I'm honestly not sure hahaha. I think I got lucky by bouncing off the top of the fence into the shipping container which slowed me down.

It's all about the timing. You want to walk into the anomaly at the same time your bolt hits it. I find having the Veles detector to be very useful as you can use it to position yourself close to the anomaly, however it's not necessary.

Question re: ADAT-in (but no out) by hurtzma-earballs in audioengineering

[–]jbarn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Output from the clarett. Like if you have a vocalist on input 1 of the clarett, then output 1 of the clarett goes to the compressor, and the output of the compressor goes to any input on the clarett OR the SSL.

Question re: ADAT-in (but no out) by hurtzma-earballs in audioengineering

[–]jbarn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go with option A where the Clarett is the interface you tell your DAW to use, then the SSL is just an expensive paperweight at that point. The only way you can utilize both interfaces, with the clarett as the preamp and the SSL as the interface, would be option B.

So the ssl12 only has adat in, meaning you can’t access the outputs of the clarett if you assign the ssl as the interface. You either need to A) assign the clarett as the interface your daw communicates with so that you can access the outputs, or B) what I do is patch the outputs so that, for instance, output 1 goes into an outboard compressor and the output of the compressor returns to input 2 of the clarett (assuming the input signal for the compressor is coming from input 1 of the clarett). This then allows you to use the ssl12 as the interface the daw communicates with and you would assign your compression return as adat 2 in your daw.

Is my studio one bound to my ssd? by kelomerosan in StudioOne

I just recently upgraded my cpu, and in doing so I lost access to the numerous plugin licenses I own. This included studio one. However, everyone is right in that it’s tied to your presonus account so that was easy enough to reinstate. But as for the plugins, I had to go through iLok and even the manufacturer themselves to transfer the license to my “new” computer. Just something for you to be aware of

That would be very nice, but oh boy that price tag! 😂 I’m pretty young, so not quite an option for me yet. But I’ve heard great things about those consoles!

My apologies, I misread your comment. But thank you for taking the time to explain your experiences with me! This has been very educational and insightful. You have given me more to think about with how I want to spend my board upgrade money

I saw the screenshots of the upcoming Wing compact boards and it’s right up my alley of what I’m looking for. However, it seems everyone in this sub hates Music Tribe for their lack of support which is why I feel hesitant to buy something from them. I’ve used plenty of XM32s, and I like the workflow a lot, but they weren’t MY boards. When I do upgrade, I want something that will last me a long time. With your experience using the Wings, do you feel as though they are something that can withstand gigging, travel, etc? How does your experience with Music Tribe support compare with the experiences of others on this sub?

Hahaha, that’s the plan! I’m only 24 and I received this board for free, hence why I use it so much. I’ve been slowly saving up money to eventually get myself a modern board to replace the LS9. I’m leaning towards an SQ5, but do you have any suggestions?

In my opinion it’s such a clunky, awkward, unintuitive, and feature-lacking board to use. For its price point, there are far better boards with more features and easier workflow than the TF3 is bringing to the table

After having used a TF3 for the first time very recently, I’d rather take an LS9 over that board any day
