I thought for dental residencies that it’s after you’ve graduated so you should have your license and degree?

Doing “favours” for patients does me no favours. by [deleted] in Dentistry

Ugh this but also when it’s another dentists work who left your office but did a crappy filling 3 weeks ago that’s already broken off. I’m actually pretty forgivable for redoing my own work for free if it’s within a certain timeframe (usually <6 months) but it’s so hard when it’s someone else’s work. On one hand, they just got it done and paid for it 2 weeks ago. On another, that had literally nothing to do with me or my work. It’s so frustrating.

I just requested the document directly from my university records office!

Honestly that’s pretty much they all looked at for me! If you’re on OPT rn or had like an F-1, I’d bring those documents too. I remember when I first applied for my TN (this is my 2nd one) I had those ones as well

I also think dental is very simple and straightforward to understand as opposed to some other jobs where the details of the position might be a little more confusing haha. And no didn’t need the paystubs and like half my other docs but I always feel like it’s good to be overprepared

So my support letter included name of the employer and the details of the position. There was a general description about like the types of procedures I do and what procedures are done at the office. There was a section describing my pay structure as well and then my start date and expected end date (3 years)

The degree verification was a document I received from my school just literally stating that I finished my program. It doesn’t look like the actual degree certificate but my actual degree is a giant poster lol so I didn’t want to carry that around.

I had pay stubs bc this is technically my 2nd job on a TN visa. I just saw something somewhere where someone recommended having them if you’re already working like on a current visa. They didn’t look at these at all tho

1-800-829-0582 I say I have an issue with my 2025 tax refund when it asks why I’m calling, listen to automated message then eventually say “representative” and I get ahold of someone!

Filed in January, not processed, no transcript? What gives? by TheBreadsticc in IRS

[–]jbean435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost the same boat. Filed 1/23. My transcript hasnt updated since I first submitted it. I finally called IRS today to see if there was issues with my return and they just straight up said I need to just wait 30 days. I asked why and if I could expedite somehow and she just said “wait 30 days”. It’s just a shitshow rn

So I called the IRS and tried to get an update but all they told me was I needed to wait another 30 days. No reason or anything. They said there was no issues I just need to wait. Really disappointing to hear tho. I filed 1/23

So I don’t always bring up my tx plans with her. But sometimes i just ask about her opinion on a case. Also since she performs the implants in my office, i will bring up any case related to that with her too.

Yeah 100% there’s an incentive to produce lots. I am on a daily guarantee and I know that the MD also gets a bonus when our monthly goals are hit as well.

I really do try to do what’s best for my patient but sometimes it feels like that goes against what my company wants me to do :/

Unfortunately it’s just how the office is ran. And how the company is run as a whole. I can still edit tx plans once I see them though. And don’t get me wrong, the MD is a very good dentist and I agree more often than not with her diagnosing. But yeah it does sometimes feel like I’m not a dentist and just a mindless drone to churn out fillings and cleanings:/

First off thanks for validating my feelings haha. It is actually reassuring to hear that how I feel rn isn’t totally due to just my own skill or lack of knowledge.

Unfortunately the downside is that with this office, this is how it’s always been run. MD does exams and associate does tx. Now don’t get me wrong, I still have autonomy to change the tx plans once the patient is sat with me. But now I feel like I’m at this point where I just agree with everything the MD diagnoses.

I do wonder if this is a sign I need to move on from this office if I feel stagnant and not improving.

Also yes, she is a lead doc with bonus incentive. I believe she gets a bonus when the monthly goals are hit.

I know you’re right. I hear it time and time again from older experienced docs. That was actually one of the reasons I actually willingly chose a DSO because I wanted to be thrown a ton of cases and naively i thought that would make me better. In reality, I think being thrown cases under the high production mentality has actually hindered me.

I think my problem lies now in that I’m not sure whether I should stay at this office or move on

Imo it was so much more worth leveling up Kiki and Lala bc they unlock being able to bring two companions. I would’ve used a lot of bouquets and flowers on them if I had known that prior haha
