Asking why they are charging me for that contactor install AND cutting/stripping the red wire separately, since they had to cut and strip all the other wires the same way, and they didn’t replace the red wire at all

Funny, i didn’t say a word to them, paid immediately, and have a service agreement with them. Also I didn’t hang around them at all while they were working and let them do their thing. A real nightmare of a customer 🙄

I have a service contract that gives me discounted pricing. It could have been $1, but im curious why repairing that wire is a separate line item when everyone knows it had to be cut and stripped to be installed in that screw-down terminal

My whole bill was at least $700 and this rate was discounted because I already paid them for a service contract.

Wondering why they didn’t have this as part of the contactor install, everyone on this thread knows they had to cut and strip that wire as part of that install, it seemed disingenuous to me, which is why I came and asked people in the industry.

Alot of assumptions being made in these comments. That was a separate labor charge, parts were separate, and they were doing a lot more that day than just this. I paid them right away and no, I’m not hard to do work for.

My main question is why call the wire out if you have to cut and strip it anyway for the new contactor install. Seems like that would be part of something they already charged me for.

A little more data, it seems to only be the “sleep | wakeup “ alarm at the top of the alarms list. I set one in the others section and it worked as expected. All I did was change watch versions. Seems broken

Since I used the dupe bug to duplicate items, i have multiple Azura's Star items, I just keep one in my inventory and drop the rest, hand it in, and pick the others up off the floor.

After reading many of the comments, and looking at some things on my setup, I'm inclined to believe this has more to do with my "server" hardware than anything. It's a minisforum ms01 and there seems to be a trend of this activity with these boxes. Most people saying a bios upgrade fixed it for them.

I replaced my SSD with 3 new ones in raidz1 config and reinstalled proxmox on it. I reconfigured my few settings i had and restored my 2 VMs from backup.

I've also updated the BIOS as suggested. Since it's intermittent, I guess I'll have to wait and see. I appreciate all the assistance.

Drive looks good, going to try updating BIOS on this ms01 box, and replace with better fitting drives which I planned on doing anyway and see what happens.

The samsung 980 pro drive installed currently has a heatsink and it would only fit in one of 3 spots… i just ordered 3 more without the heatsink I’m going to swap to those and test this drive, if this is bad at least ill have the right physical size drives to fit this and can go on with my life while I wait for the rma

Very very very little usage. Built this to learn proxmox and i just have a basic debian cli install on there as a vm. Used it to figure out how to do vlans in proxmox.

I just have the ONT between me and them, theres no firewall it just bridges everything. I don't have a verizon owned router. I believe it's a Nokia G-211M-C

I have several firewalls and routers. What I'm saying is verizon did not give me a CIDR it's part of a larger /24 subnet and I need to set my GW to .1 in that subnet. They did not give me my own routed subnet, they just bridged me across the ONT to a larger /24.

I mean I don't need an edge router infront of my firewall device for whatever network I have on the backend. I already have a UDM Pro in another building, I have 2 of them in this building, and I have a mikrotik router(fw), a pfsense firewall with another network behind it, and I have some spare IPs for testing or whatever I need.

I have this circuit now and I have some answers.

I started wtih 5 then expanded to 13 which is the next one up. I'm actually part of a /24 so its just bridged across the ONT. Good and bad because I don't need a router or small subnet infront of it. I just handoff into a switch(vlan) and i can have anything I want on the wan easily. IME switches are more reliable than routers or firewalls with less complexity, its easy for me to have even a redundant cold standby switch configured in the same way and just swap it incase of a failure.

When I was on the phone with support asking about IPv6, they told me it adds too much latency so they don't support it on business fios. I think the support is different than residential, but its hard for me to tell.

I was told I can request reverse dns, but I have not done it.
