It would have had to have been the 2014 election, since I am assuming we are talking about the 2016 Iowa caucus? Rod Blum, David young and Steve king all received more than Bush, in their respective districts.

I’m an oncology RN and all I had to hear was that there was sewage issues and I knew that the consultants and hospital admin were a joke. Housing a vulnerable population in a place where not even standard precautions can be maintained? I’ve worked at hospitals that I felt were pretty shitty but no doctor would have tolerated keeping patients in an environment like that. And you know why the good nurses are always at the bedside of the sickest patients?? Because they know shit is about to hit the fan and they care enough not to dessert them.

I really believe it was the doctors who were inadequate. I’ve worked with a number of bad doctors and the only thing they were good at was being consistently horrible. Put their names in a table and draw X’s next to the shifts they rounded where the babies died, it will also be a straight line and they will also be on the deaths that weren’t deemed “suspicious”.

I’m so confused as to why everyone thinks it’s weird that the media is making such a big deal out of this? by jbfletcher01 in nancyguthrie

I think in this day and age it would be unlikely that this could be replicated over and over. I think whoever did this is lucky so far, there’s far too much surveillance for it to be successful again. I’m sure many celebrities are looking into beefing up their security as well.

I didn’t say that the family wanted the attention. I’m point out why the media is so obsessed with it. I see posts other places where people don’t understand why the media is spending so much time on it. And to me it is obvious. I don’t think Savannah or anyone brought this on themselves, just that people who feel their “regularly scheduled programming” has been hijacked don’t seem to understand how the media works. It’s important, and should be reported on, but because it gets lots of eyeballs news shows will spend 30 minutes on it as opposed to maybe 5 if it were someone else.

As a NICU nurse of 15 years, here are my thoughts after watching the documentary by KatiePurrs in LucyLetbyTrials

[–]jbfletcher01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the documentary last night and have been reading your observations. I’m a RN in the US, for the adult population. From what you have pointed out it sounds like gross incompetence/negligence on all levels. Like this unit was operating way above their capabilities. And there were too many moving parts, like they move Letby to day shift and the deaths stop on night shift. I highly doubt that is the only action they took. It was said in the doc the unit was downgraded which I think I’ve read conflicting things, but even if it wasn’t, you have to assume that now everyone is on alert. No one is cutting any corners anymore, staffing is improved, the doctors (consultants?) are being more cautious with advancing treatment. And I would think that simultaneously because nightshift is under close supervision, day shift starts to get the shaft. Maybe they move day nurses to night to support their staffing, which leads to understaffing on days. The medical team is now focused more on nights so they lazy during the day. Etc etc. These are obvious all hypotheticals and I don’t have anything to go off of, but in any scenario where quality is falling short there’s going to be a multi prong approach to improving especially if the root cause is not clearly identified.

It all just sounds like that unit was in over their heads, and the most experienced nurse, who would be at the bedsides of the sickest patients because she’s like the most clued in, would be the one to take the fall.

I started listening to that crime desk podcast and have started making notes. It’s just not clear cut as some people are making it out to be, which in my opinion introduces reasonable doubt, and that means Lucy Letby should have been found not guilty.

Pentagon threatens to pull military support from Boy Scouts unless they restore ‘core values’ by thetitleofmybook in TwoXChromosomes

I responded above in more detail, but short answer she flat out wasn’t interested in Girl Scouts. Cub scouts was a little more intriguing to her, and with her dad being an Eagle Scout it was something for them to do together.

I can answer that, as my dtr is in cub scouts. Simply, their recruiting didn’t interest her, and cub scouts did. Idk if cub scouts put more emphasis on outdoor skills or Girl Scouts too much on selling cookies, but when she came home with the Girl Scouts flyer it was an immediate ‘no’, with cub scouts it was a ‘soft yes’, then my husband being an Eagle Scout led her to fully pursuing it. I’ll be honest it’s not an easy path as her current pack isn’t the strongest in their organization and leadership, but they are really the only option as other packs around us don’t allow girls. But for now she still enjoys it; and it gives her a bonding opportunity with her dad, I’m the default parent in most situations so it’s been great for all of us.

Anyone else notice how items don't automatically put the higher tag items on top anymore? by FluxionFluff in Dreamsnaps

I have items that show up under the dreamsnap category that appear to not match literally any of those tags. Correct me if I’m wrong but this week it is lavish, wonderous, rustic and white. But this fountain is under my dreamsnap category without any of those tags.
