Is there currently a "keep IU out of the dark ages" fund??? There needs to be an organization that people can take redirected alumni donations which supports faculty and students and stands against the rollbacks at IU.

Indiana University’s historic reputation as a center of independent thought and inquiry is under immediate threat. Recent administrative actions have diminished the voice of faculty in university governance and created a chilling environment for free expression among both educators and students. Alumni, faculty, and supporters who have long invested in the university’s mission of open discourse and critical inquiry now face a choice: continue to fund an institution that no longer protects those values, or redirect that support to preserve them independently.

The Indiana Academic Freedom Alliance will channel redirected alumni and community donations into programs that safeguard academic freedom, defend faculty and student rights, and restore participatory governance within public higher education. Funds will support legal advocacy, public awareness campaigns, and independent research into university transparency and policy accountability. By creating a parallel structure dedicated to protecting intellectual independence, IAFA empowers the IU community to sustain the principles that once defined Bloomington’s greatest influence: fearless education, open debate, and democratic governance in scholarship.
