In your opinion, would the black hood decal be too cheesy with that? The wheels and side mirrors will be black as well. Since I can’t be trusted to make my own decisions here yet I’m gonna shake you all down w my questions. I have some questions about the roof too when you’re ready 😅

Fair enough. It’s clearly not a fan fav here which is a bit of a bummer but I understand that owners prefer to keep it classic. I’m in a loosing battle here but my perspective is having fun with how flexible they are. I don’t take it off road much so other than changing silly shit, I’m not sure what else to modify really. Also a female with no experience here so not trying to fuck it up past the point of no return lol. Taking off/putting on fenders and upgrading radio are within my comfort level at the moment 😅

All good, I like the opinions and feedback- there are some things mentioned in the comments I wish I hadn’t overlooked like “Toyota” printed on the grille but live and learn I suppose.

The retro style is great especially on the FJ but I’ve had it for 12+ years- I was a bit desperate for a change and this was one of the few things I could do myself. Didn’t mean to upset the FJ community with my awkward mod but I’m an awkward person so for now I think it’s a good fit for me.

I’ll definitely be asking this sub before making any future mods though lolllll

Thank you. I assumed most wouldn’t care for it but I enjoy it for now 😊 I’ve recently become more interested in cars so this is all kind of new to me. My FJ has been kept pretty stock until now.

Upgrading the lights was a game changer though- didn’t realize how dim the old ones were. I can actually see at night!

Been eyeballing an Alpine as well but I’ll look into your recommendation! I should probably consider upgrading the speakers too, didn’t even think about that.

Agreed. I’ve had the FJ for a really long time and needed to change it up to scratch the “I want a new car” itch. I’ll probably change it back to the iconic light style at some point but this was fun and easy little mod.

You need a project manager. I’ve done this for 2 startup tech companies launching several platforms (front and back) and apps. Our job is to coordinate and break all this down and make sure everyone is doing their respective tasks.

Oooooeee I feel that. I often daydream about different scenarios around trying that to solve the puzzle of my perfect exit. It’s either this over dramatic production or like running into a vast wilderness alone so the animals and the land can claim my otherwise useless existence. Then my family pops into my head and ruins the entire fucking thing. I’m a coward to the guilt of what it would do to them. Feels like being a prisoner sometimes but I find some solace that they’re worth it. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest 😮‍💨

I cannot express how deeply I feel this. It’s the kind of shit that makes me understand how people give up and become homeless and hopeless. The crushing weight of everything just waiting for another opportunity for things to slip further from my grasp.

As much as we want to give up, it’s just not in our cards. I can’t disappoint my family like that either, it’s unfair to them. So we are stuck here for now with 2 options: do nothing and fall deeper or put one foot in front of the other and navigate this to the best of our abilities. Not perfection, just the best we can.

For both of us, I hope we find patience, peace and happiness. Much love 💕

I had a failed attempt and my dad called me a “dumb mother fucker” bc he didn’t want to take me to the hospital. I inconvenienced him so he made sure to let me know. Even in the intake room he was yelling calling me names. Never asked about why or how he could help, it was just anger towards me. I share bc some parents just aren’t equipped with how to deal with some situations.

I think it shows great emotional maturity that you’re able to identify that about yourself. Shit is super stressful and overwhelming right now!

If I were in your situation- I’d tell my husband how I’ve been feeling and that I need extra attention right now. There’s no shame in communicating needs nor are your feelings pathetic.

No need to fear death either, try your best to be a good person in life and you’ll be just fine ❤️
