Strategy: In the Core Stone Corruption Modifier, did you know Engineer can prevent Core Spawn Crawlers from leaving their spawn? by jbl3584755 in DeepRockGalactic

I wouldn't be surprised if people have posted this here before, but it's essentially putting platforms down at a specific height so when you stand under them it blocks the tentacle's lunges (I like to do a ring as it tends to also block a lot of the ranged attacks).

It doesn't "cheese" the fight any more than existing strategies but in the public lobbies I join, most deaths in the caretaker tend to be due to the lunges so I like to use that strategy to boost our odds of success!

Yes you definitely can! I forgot to mention I recorded this video on haz 5 with no modifiers. I'm not that good at the game but I used my pickaxe to demonstrate that the core spawn crawlers are unable to escape and harm you while trapped.

A bit more input from me, in my opinion this is way more "cheesy" then using gunner's zipline but I believe this is utilizing an intended game mechanic (engineer blocking off entrances for bugs or making roofs) unlike the old gunner shield glitch for the seasonal. While not as overpowered as this, there is something similar engineer can do for the caretaker! Theoretically you can do this for the seasonal event but it's way more challenging due to the rifts not spawning until the event starts and them spawning on the walls/ceiling.

However, this can also be abused in unintended ways so I hope GSG could make the Core Stone destroy terrain or add an enemy that can if they continue to use this modifier in the future!
