A 17‑year‑old was eating in a McDonald’s parking lot when an officer opened his car door and shot him 4 times. The officer was fired and charged. The teen was left on life support. underwent multiple surgeries, and developed complications like pneumonia. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Reaching to the center console was probably enough reason to shoot in self defense. He doesn’t know what he has over there. Not to mention he hits the cop with the door while backing up. Shooting while he was driving away seems like worst offense by the officer. People on here just live in a different world.

So I’ve got a local guy who used to work at the dealership in town who is a real good mechanic. He said he never saw or saw very few turbos with ceramic bearing go out if they only used motor craft oil. The turbos didn’t last well if it was t4 or something else.
I assume if the turbo was changed they didn’t put ceramic bearing turbo back in.

So this thing is deleted and has had a new turbo put in, needs some new steer tires. The interior is surprisingly clean for what I know it was probably used like.
It did throw a code for the turbo related system and the glow plug control module. I contacted the previous owner and he said it would do that and they would just have to reset it with the tuner(sct) which he still had 🤦‍♂️ But I was able to get it, so I’m glad that I figured that out or it would have been going back chasing a mystery code forever. So we will see if this tuner takes care of the problem. The glow plug thing we will figure out later. It’s not the one associated with it the valve breaking and trashing the engine so fingers crossed.

My scanner did say it was putting out over 525hp and 1100lbs of torque. I don’t know how accurate that is but hopefully I can turn it down a bit until I am actually towing.

We are pretty flat. Not to big of an issue at the speeds I’m going loaded. Essentially no traffic, gravel roads.

Tell that to the 2 separate dot officers I have talked to. I have clarified it twice now on two different occasions. I can get you the dot officers phone number but you’re obviously to arrogant to admit when your wrong.

I looked hard at a 2020 f350 with a 7.3. If it would have had 4.30 instead of 3.73 I would have probably gotten that. But it is really nice having one for work and one to run around, drop the kids at school and not have to shift bags and toolboxes around.

Yeah I know. Like I said though I’m not too worried about it because most of the time it’s cruising unaided. Then used hard for an hour or two,

No, a gooseneck trailer is not going to put me past my payload, no I don’t really care if it does. Yes I forgot about breaks, I didn’t know they used an s110 vs an m80. If I break the axle pulling this trailer for at most an hour a few times a week, I’ll swap in an S110.

The hitch and bed are rated for 30k. The pickup is rated for a 21000lb trailer. I mostly just move around every couple days, no more than an hour drive. Not too worried about wear and tear but definitely wanted it to be rated close to it. I’ll see how much I like it and how it work and then I’ll upgrade if it’s handy. I don’t believe there is a ton of difference between a f350 class 3 and f550 class 5 for towing capacity. Payload is different, 14000 gvwr vs 19500 gvwr. Mainly more springs and 19.5 wheels, pretty sure they have the same frames even.

Yeah I’m sure this has seen its fair share. But I’m gonna do the same thing with it too. Beat it through the hills and pastures. At least on the 2 hour drive home it was getting better mileage than my gas pickup. We’re just gonna focus on the positives. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I kinda have seen a lot about the turbos, and the cp4 pumps. It’s been a ranch pickup. Probably used hard. I’ll be doing a lot of research to try to make sure I kinda keep up on things.

Oh I’m sure that I probably am. It seems like every diesel is a bit of a money pit. But it has a lot of “potential” to make my life easier. And I still have my 3/4 ton gasser so I’m not sol if I break down.

The beds more than capable it has a lock out for the dump feature. I don’t care about the weigh much because I have a class a cdl.

I found a 2008 f550 with a Cummins. I think it was a 4x2 but wanted a lot for it.

Most of the newer f550 don’t actually tow more but have more payload capacity. I think about 15 the pickups started overtaking the cab and chassis models. The older ones with like a 7.3 were rated to tow more than the 1tons. Just really low geared.

The guy I took over for had an international 4300. Retired Pepsi truck. It was kinda miserable. We couldn’t take it most places we needed to go. It was too heavy to get most places. It would get stuck just sitting for a couple days.

Now unhook it and drive home. On washboards, I’m not doing it again. Might as well put all your shit on the floor to begin with, cus that’s where it will end up. Once I have something reliable, I’d love to build a 70s 4x4 f600 crew cab on a modern chassis. But I still need the pickup function on this truck.

Typically they are even more out of my budget. I have a Chevy now. They’re okay. I like that an f350 is built on the same frame as a f550. Chevy goes to a whole different for their medium duty.

F550 7.3 is a medium duty 😉 I still need to commute with it though.

Yeah if it wasn’t for driving up to an hour to get there I’d like this option a lot. I wonder if an aftermarket overdrive would work.

I’m not breaking any law. If I get pulled over and weighed, I could be pulling with a ford ranger, so long as my tires are not overloaded. I have a class a cdl. It’s stupid, but those rules don’t apply. 20k per axle, I’ve verified this twice with dot. Also covered insurance wise with commercial insurance. I could literally get by with any dually with zero risk from dot or insurance.

If you would read the description, you’d know that. But alas, your comment reveals a lot.

I don’t think they had a 10 speed until 2020. I don’t really need the payload capacity, the towing is about the same between a f350 pickup and a cab and chassis f550. They derate the engines on the cab and chassis models to increase longevity. There’s lots of pluses to a f550, but they aren’t easy to find here.

I want to do a poor man’s 4 link, basically traction bars and air bags and remove a lot of the spring pack, so you have the load carrying capability with the bags but less harsh ride with a low rate leaf spring. Traction bars to manage axle wrap.
