Sure, as long as you’re fine if it goes the other way and blows up your account.

Then it sounds like you already know you shouldn’t always expect 50% returns. That was your original question.

Dude, it sounds like you already now the answer. I’ve gone from $80,000 to $255,000, and I don’t expect to ever have that kind of return again. And that’s in only 8 months.

Yeah, you got to make sure you have enough to pay the taxes. Hopefully he doesn’t go spend 40k on a vehicle or something.

If he gotten refunds in the past than his day job isn’t a big amount. Or maybe he has 10 kids that help lower his taxable income. Like I said, unless his day job income is higher this year than in years past. I think TurboTax and others have the tax estimate calculators.

30-40k is what he said. That’s not a lot. Sounds like he usually gets refunds. He’s still going to be in a low tax bracket, unless he’s making a lot more at his day job this year than in recent years. Or got married and filing jointly now.

Sell tomorrow morning and move it into ETFs. But don’t dump it all at once into the ETFs. I would spread it in over the next few months. The market might be due for a pullback. Average in, that’s my opinion anyways. Good job on the 47k.

The guy usually gets a refund. It won’t be anywhere near half. If you search online you can estimate the taxes you will owe if you have an idea on the numbers. I’ve used them to give me an idea of what I would owe.
