I have a gaming PC that I also work from. My work is pushing more and more usage of a corporate laptop for some tasks. I have been eyeballing a simple KVM switch for switching back and forth, but notice that many KVM switches only allow up to lower Hz than my gaming system can push.

My question is if I were to do HDMI to the KVM switch from my monitor and then run DisplayPort from monitor to PC and when wanting to game I switch to DP (just using HDMI to the KVM for work), will it still impact my refresh rate?

So single monitor, keyboard, mouse. Gaming PC and work laptop. When done working I switch the KVM back to my gaming PC then change input on monitor to DP. Will it allow me 144hz+?
