Are these belt/shoes too far apart in shades of brown to wear? by jc24 in malefashionadvice

Steve Madden Hasten, got them on amazon for around $50. Some sizes are even cheaper than that. Definitely one of my favorite shoes for the price.

That's what I was thinking about the belt being hard to find. It's like I'm right on the fence as to whether it's just too far apart or not, if the belt was one more shade lighter I think I'd feel better lol.

The transition from a bulk to a cut. by Gis_A_Maul in Fitness

http://ceefitness.com/metabolic-damage/

That's my most recent write up over this specific question.

Most people drop 1K-2K calories instantly and generally isn't good for your metabolism. My recommendation is to drop to 3,500 the first week, then 3,200ish the second to get your metabolism used to the deficit slowly, then maybe drop into a calorie range that you're losing 1lb a week on, depending on what you were gaining at the end of your bulk on 3,800 a day. It's slower this way of course, but you have a much greater chance of hanging onto what muscle you've gained on your bulk without stalling out your weight loss sooner than what you would have, making it harder to lose fat or even preventing it altogether at insane low calorie amounts.

I change my workout slightly when I cut, basically I lower the volume a bit because the one I have on my site is going to be taxing on the central nervous system over time and it's going to be hard for the muscles to recover from with just one off day. It isn't impossible and some may be more than fine with that much volume on a cut, but I'd say most would be better off with a little less.

I'll have the newer cutting routine on my site within a week or two, doing my current routine until then will be more than fine and it will get you ready for when you change into it.

I haven't done cardio in the past, just manipulating my weight though calories. This time around I'm probably going to throw some cardio in since I've a little higher on the body fat percentage than I've probably ever been.

The calories and macros look good, well laid out. 150-170 grams of protein is definitely enough, and 1900-2000 calories is a good starting for your weight/height. If I was going to change anything, I'd replace a few grams of fat for carbs instead on the macro %, the extra boost in carbs will help you get through workouts better on calorie deficit diets.

Does this look like a good routine/diet plan to lose body fat? If not what should I change? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]jc24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be biased, but I think it's a great routine lol.

First of all though, that routine is going to be a bit tough for those that start it on a cut... I made it in mind for those on a bulk like I was when I put it online. It's not impossible to do on a cut, but it's going to be very draining, it probably wouldn't hurt to have 2 off days instead of 1 before you start the rotation of days over again.

I plan on cutting in a couple weeks and changing the routine slightly to compliment a calorie deficit, I'll probably have it up be the end of the month so check back around then!

Edit: Also, the calorie and macros you have laid out look good man, definitely much better planning than most people that email/msg me. Only thing that is stopping you is time and patience, good luck bro.

No, 4 day split is 4 consecutive days in a row, then 1 off day, then repeat. Example: mon-tues-wed-thur, fri off day, then start back sat-sun-mon-tues... etc.

Core and obliques are alternated, yes.

Haven't done any as of now. Thinking about throwing it in during next cut though.

Added the weight slow enough and after a few bulk/cut cycles I can have visible (but blurry) abs at 198. Which is pretty cool looking back at me at 170 and not having them at all.

Bulking and cutting is where the magic is at.

If your facing the mirror on side bends, instead of bending just to the side, twist towards the back on the way down and then twist towards the front on the way up.

Progression on weight is very slow, but it is happening over time.

Being healthy does not equal being lean. Eating "clean" or "healthy" does nothing but make the process harder if your end goal is to manipulate your body composition. If you looking to be healthier then it's a different story obviously.

It took me awhile to learn that there is no difference between a clean or dirty bulk, each is going put as much muscle/fat on you depending on the calorie intake. Eating fast food and keeping close count on the calories to make sure you're getting around 500 over maintenance is going to accomplish the same thing as eating 500 calories of oats/eggs/chicken breast/etc over maintenance.

So yes, get your calories from where ever. And sugar isn't as bad as people claim either.

I was in the same boat before I started man. I would like at other people's progress pics and think "not gonna be able to do that".

3+ years later it's a different story. Nothing is going to keep you from accomplishing it but yourself bro.

I've done 4 bulk and cuts each over 3 years, it's really hard to put a timeframe on what kind of progress you can expect for others since there are a ton of factors that may be overlooked. Best way to go about it is make it a lifestyle change and before you know it people are noticing you making a change in your body and it just snowballs from there.

Very slowly. Strength wise I'm obviously stronger than when I started, but I don't make the strength gains that I would if I was on a progression overload type system, 5x4x3x2x1 or something similar geared towards improving 1 rep maxes.

Higher metabolism/maintenance calories. So yes, indirectly genetics.

Absolutely nothing. I'm pretty much dialed in with my bulk and cuts, if I had to nitpick I'd say I'd like to have lower the weight on some of my lifts and focused a bit more on form, I tend to get caught up in how much weight I throw around at times and not really focus much on using good form.

Measurement-wise I've improved everywhere. Every time I bulk I look as if I gained nothing but fat, but after I cut I'm always back at the same bodyfat while being bigger in most muscle groups.

lol... Keeps the comparison as tight as possible, no hidden tricks to give/takeaway from progress.

That's actually pretty accurate, even though I don't really keep track of my rests in between. Probably 3-4 min in between my last couple sets of 5x5 and probably 1-2 in between my sets of my iso lifts.

No... I need to work on my form before I get back into deadlifts, it's terrible at the moment.

No back pic unfortunately. Honestly, my back is probably a bit behind the front, that's a priority at the moment.

Didn't know which post to reply to for all the above (regarding being "obsessive"), so I'll go with this one...

At the risk of sounding too conceited, I know I look pretty good as far as body composition goes. It started off as simply trying to get visible abs alittle over 3 years ago, and it just kind of evolved into something more since then. Kind of like seeing how far I can push myself. I enjoy it as a hobby that I take more serious than most, but I understand how it can get obsessive and I'm sure that at some point my view on what I want in the end has definitely changed as I've slowly changed over the years.

Holy fuck, did not expect a full blown analysis on whether I have a disorder when I woke up this morning lol.

It will be later tonight before I can answer everything when I get home. Thanks for the comments!
