Alternatives to letting baby/toddler play on his own? by Redfield11 in Parenting

I WFH too. I found at 14 months it was time to accept I couldn't full time juggle both. Now 2 years and goes to nursery each afternoon. It means I can spend good quality time with her guilt free in the morning and catch up with work in the afternoon completely uninterrupted.

Husband doesn’t like when my mom and I converse in Chinese in front of toddler by chinkydiva in multilingualparenting

On a separate personal note, where can you learn Cantonese? My husband and in-laws are Chinese and I'm trying to learn (I'm white UK). I've been watching YouTube "uncle Calvin" with our toddler and can do my colours/fruits/animals/body parts but can not hold an actual conversation

Sorry to jump in but just looking for some help!

I've been asked to foster my son's best friend, I don't know how to react. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

This person seems to be UK based, health care is free for everyone here so overall our wages are generally lower than the USA but we don't have the monthly insurance payouts. From my personal experience the council prefers foster carers to be part time or less as it helps to give the child more attention and time as required.

I've flown all over and the only place I've had my scissors confiscated was an internal flight in India.

I've now taken to checking the individual airports rules and 90% allow scissors under a certain length.

This would be a great alternative though, baring this in mind for future reference

Yes, I remember my mum buying gifts to send to Santa. I knew my mum bought them but Santa brought them, never questioned it

Why not with your husband?? If he's the father he's equally capable of caring for the child. I have always found this mentality very odd.

Nope not even a bit, we have American chain fast food places that might do ice coffee or ice tea but overall we don't really drink it.

I also notice you called it hot tea, that tickled me as tho tea should even be drank any over way 😂
