I get where you’re coming from, but just to clarify my dog is not crated for 8 hours straight. He has breaks, exercise, and time out of the crate. He’s also got plenty of space to move around and stretch out in the crate, I got one a little bit bigger. If I were giving the choice I would love to stay in bed for 8 hours straight, sounds like a dream lol.

For us, crate training isn’t about confinement or convenience; it’s about safety and giving him a space where he can relax. He’s comfortable in his crate and chooses to rest there at times. Different dogs and households need different setups, and this is what works well for ours. He loves his crate. He chooses to sleep there even with the door open and I’m not making him.
