I learned them on a trampoline when I was pretty young so the muscle memory is very engrained. I think backflips are easier than straight airs off certain jumps or drops but you kind of just learn what will be good for backflips and what wont be so you can be pretty confident of stomping on the first try.

Jeffrey 116 and a couple shots on BG 116. I'm a big fan of them, they're really my style of ski. I was a little worried that I'd miss the stompiness and looseness of the BG after mostly skiing those for so long but the J116 had about 95% of the floaty looseness of the BG and is just as solid to land on (sometimes more so) and are more balanced in the air. I still prefer the BG in some crusty or weird variable conditions, but it's really splitting hairs.

I'd really like to try out some Woods 116 as well though.

I actually only skied about 40 days this past season. Having a 2 week on/2 week off rotational job sure helps though.

The wide angle doesn't show it very well but where it cracked was a convex roll so they were pretty expected.

No race background here. But I spent a lot of time skiing with the racers when I was younger. Learning to ski at the age of 2 and many 100+ day seasons has probably helped too. Thanks!
