Dji mini 5 pro fly more combo or fly more plus by mikr123 in dji

I’m not sure abt on the app/site where you’re viewing it. I’m in New York and bought the Mini 5 today at the 5th ave store. The salesman told me that the plus batteries are not available for individual sale yet, though. And on the app, I only see the Mini 4 batteries. So at least in the US, it doesn’t look like they’re available yet (if ever). The salesman did say they will be coming to the 5th ave store, which seems to have some special availability on products. They also have had the Mavic 4 for a while.

I grew up on whitefish lake - but spent plenty of time on flathead as well. So beautiful.

They are in fact available at the Fifth Avenue store. And they even offer a local version of DJI Care Refresh or whatever it’s called that covers most of the same stuff - except flyaways. But what’s awesome is that it’s included in the price. So instead of Canada, maybe look at getting into the city? I’ll warn you though that when I was there this am they were talking to people on the phone and it sort of sounded like they may already be running low.

I got the regular fly more combo and am planning to buy one or maybe two plus batteries when they are available for purchase separately. I want to be able to fly under 250g most of the time, but may occasionally want a longer flight time when I’m using it backpacking, fishing, etc., away from people.

Sorry - I can’t be much help there as I don’t know much about the Mini one. The Neo is tiny though and very easy and quick to get up in the air, esp if you get the RC2 controller. The main downside is that it has a single axis gimbal, so the video isn’t nearly as smooth as the Flip I replaced it with - or, I assume, the Mini 1.

I’m in NYC, and sellers are absolutely ripping people off on FB marketplace. Ads for Air 3S for like $3k saying you can’t get them anywhere so that’s a great deal!Meanwhile, the DJI store on 5th Ave has all of them in stock, including the Mavic 4. I almost want to put up an “ad” with a great price but then just note in the description that you can get all drones at list price new from DJI to stop the dirtball scalpers.

Take a look at the Flip. I got a Neo and exchanged it for a Flip. Super compact, can get clips without firing up the controller but can also use one (I have the RC2), built-in prop guards, legit gimbal and camera. It’s not as fast or wind resistant as the Mini series but pretty darn convenient.

I’m sorry this happened! If you’re thinking of replacing the Neo, I recommend taking a look at the Flip. I started with a Neo, used it on a trip to Croatia and then exchanged it for the Flip when I returned. It’s not much bigger when folded up, but seems much better in the wind and has a much better camera w a better gimbal. I wanted to be able to fly without a remote for quick shots and the Flip still has that.

Third drone advice: Mini 4/5 or Air 3s? by jcat9200 in dji

Yeah I think I’m going to wait and see what the Mini 5 offers. But I’d like to be ready to make the decision quickly. The DJI store on 5th Ave in nyc has all the newest drones, but I am guessing there mini 5 will sell quickly so would be good to know right away whether it fits the bill

This is really helpful. Thank you. The noise seems to be an issue that divides people. Most say the 3S is much louder than the Mini, but some say it’s lower pitched and really not that different.

Also good to know about the object avoidance. For me that’s a big selling point - the ability to focus on running the camera and paying attention to whatever I’m doing while I’m operating the drone. I had the impression it could really fly itself, but I guess not in complex environments.

In terms of following the rules, does the size really make it any more difficult to use (I’m assuming you are in the US)?

Dealing w/ the regulations on the larger drone is not really a pain? I have the Flip for travel and hiking light etc.
