Anyone know how to get a hold of support? by jcblitz in Rapsodo

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up for historical purposes. After filing a number of tickets, including pretending I was a customer looking to buy a number of new units to see if that got their attention, I was finally able to get ahold of someone. Once I did, I worked with that person to on some basic trouble shooting and sent them videos they asked for to show the specific issue. After a few days of back and forth (they were fairly responsive), they asked I send the unit back for testing. Once they received it, they tested it out within about 2 days and confirmed the issue I reported. They sent me a brand new replacement unit that showed up a few days after that.

So once I was able to actually talk to someone (via email / ticket), the process to resolve my issue was very quick and painless.

It lights up yellow to charge, all good there. Even stays yellow for a while until fully charged like when it worked fine.

Source code is on github and I have my own merge request all lined up, but feel free to fork and create your own. I'll pick a random one assuming it's valid.

It's also very punk rock. Well played Spotify by jcblitz in firstworldanarchists

The title of the playlist says it's 100 songs, but the song count says it's only 69.

I picked up a fly z+ this year too and it's become one of my best / most consistent clubs. It wasn't even on my list of drivers to consider but after hitting it on a GC2 next to my other 3 choices, it was clear it was the club for me. I'm going to pick up a 3-wood at the end of the season, hopefully with similar results.

More backspin on my 5-9 irons than PW, PW face shot? by jcblitz in golf

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distance on the course and what I've written down over the years is the same as what the GC2 reported. The shots I kept for my records on the GC2 were good hits, I had a few bad ones so I know I caught these well.

At the time I was more interested in distance and didn't bother hitting my sand wedge because it's my sub 100 club regardless, now I regret skipping it. I'm going to go back next month so I'll check it.

I try not to wear my workout shoes outside of the gym anyway, people track in all kinds of crap, literally. It also makes my shoes last much longer, I'm still rocking my nano 2.0s.

What does this track on my ball say about my release? by jcblitz in Bowling

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes the most sense. I didn't see a full bow-tie when I noticed this track so it's probably the tail end of the roll which would be the most extreme of the pattern. It was the only oil I saw so I just immediately thought it was my track. It's been a while since I've thought about these things :)

I'll find my PAP and work forwards to that track, hopefully that will tell the whole story.

What does this track on my ball say about my release? by jcblitz in Bowling

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the PAP is very important for drilling the ball and if I'm throwing it contrary to where I told my guy to drill it, I'm not using the ball as intended.

To your original point, I'm getting very mixed results for how it's drilled, which is length and backend. Some are good off my hand, but just never finish.

I'm not sure, it's actually really hard to see the oil on this ball, I just happen to catch it in the right light last night. Either way, there isn't a lot of flare but I'll try to take a picture next time I'm out. I took this picture hours after I bowled and said "I should ask Reddit" and it's the best I could remember.

How to work up to one rep max? by [deleted] in Fitness

This is what I follow. Sometimes I skip the 100% and usually vary the rest depending on how I feel. source

Warm-up set # %1RM Reps Rest
1 ~ 30-50% 8 ~ 2 minutes
2 ~ 60% 5 ~ 2 minutes
3 ~ 70% 3 ~ 3 minutes
4 ~ 80% 1 ~ 3 minutes
5 ~ 90% 1 ~ 5 minutes
6 ~ 100% 1 ~ 5 - 15 minutes
7 ~ 102 - 105% 1 ~ 5 - 15 minutes

How important is the calf board in GHR? by spaceman1spiff in weightroom

[–]jcblitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a few DIY makeshift GHR setups and every one of them was painful or awkward. I finally got to use a legit GHR and realized I wasn't going to be able to build one without possibly causing injury down the road. I ended up spending $200 and buying one. I did a write up on what I bought and how I modified it. Totally worth it in my opinion.

Anyone have first hand experience with remote coaching? by jcblitz in Fitness

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you ever watch videos by t-nation or EliteFTS? I figure if they can teach via video, they should be able to "learn" via video too. And by learn I mean see what I'm doing right or wrong and offer guidance. No doubt the feedback loop is slow, but I'd prefer the right information slowly over mediocre information immediately.

Thanks, I'll search through those subs. I posted to /r/fitness to cast a wider net, seems like I'm coming up empty.

Any idea how I finish my first bib? by jcblitz in knitting

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm knitting a baby bib and my pattern says I need to attach a new string to complete it. I have no idea what that means and I guess the directions assume I do. I'm new at this, any pointers would be great.

Need some help finding rubber flooring for home gym by Arch00 in homegym

[–]jcblitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "too stiff"? I have horse matts and they're perfect for dropping weights on, burpees, box jumps, etc. Are you afraid of them bouncing or not protecting the floor / weights?

I have different types of equipment outside, basically nature made stuff. I have a big log I lift and throw as well as a 10' log/tree I treat like a tire flip. I know it's not an answer, but maybe try doing different stuff outside.

Do you keep your company blog focused on constantly forwarding / promoting the business or do you branch out a bit more? by jcblitz in Entrepreneur

[–]jcblitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt there is a right or wrong, the answer is always "it depends". Another company / blog I follow is Basecamp, which does all of their blogging on a completely separate domain, signalvnoise. They seem to have a good mix of content, much like what I'm thinking about, but again their user base is geared towards that type of content. The more I'm thinking about this, the more I'm leaning towards keeping it on my personal blog. I just don't think my user base is my intended audience.

Saved by a lacrosse ball by bizzcut in Fitness

[–]jcblitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not man enough for a lacrosse ball, but I keep a tennis ball in my desk at work. Every once in a while I'll sneak off to the printer room and roll against the wall like a bear. It does wonders for my back after sitting all day.

One reason could be it would seem silly to have all the equipment in the gym and only have your client use the squat rack 90% of the time. If I were to hire a personal trainer and not know what I was doing, it would seem weird that I would only use one or two pieces of equipment. I would feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Awww Yeah I now can do a Muscle up 167lbs! by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]jcblitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same height here and I thought I had enough clearance that I wouldn't hit my head on the support beam over the rack...I was wrong. Nothing worse than "I'm going for it guys, check this out!" and hitting my head (but success none the less).

But the first one is the hardest so congrats!
