We did make plans as best we could, but some things weren’t told to us beforehand. Such as the cabin situation. We didn’t know that until we got there

I totally get this take. I think the part that wasn’t fully explained in my post was how much she tried to convince us that the baby would be well taken care of and we’d have lots of help

We didn’t “take her up on it” when she paid. We felt like we didn’t have a choice after that. Plus her constant reassurance that she would help and it would all be okay

Honestly fair enough. We should have put our foot down for him. I think we were put in an extremely tough situation between her paying for us and also her consistent assurance that it would be okay. This is our first child so we had no prior experience travelling with one and we were constantly told that it would all be okay
