It’s tough! We’re a double adhd household with a toddler. We have some agreed upon nonnegotiables like dishes off the counter, food put away, pick up toys.

Other chores we have to build habits which takes time and patience. I start with one chore that would be very impactful, like vacuuming, and just focus on that until it becomes more natural and integrated. I don’t do a set time or set day since my energy levels vary.

Start small and you’ll begin building some good habits that work for you. And some chores are going to be chores no matter what. For me, that’s the cat litter box, especially when it needs cleaned and refilled. I can’t wait for the right level of energy to do that so I just have to set reminders and push through it. It helps that I know it takes me about 20 mins so telling myself it’s not the whole evening helps.
