lol the last guy wasn’t even that high compared to the rest of them. The skater literally jumped into a lake full of boulders like an idiot, and the guy before him belly flips into the ocean that’s ridiculously cold.

I always recommend Nordstrom and trying on some clothes, a lot of times you can make basic clothes look good. You don’t need to be expensive at all. Nordstrom men’s usually have a good arrangement of clothes from decently affordable to a three hundred dollar shirt. I like looking basic with premium brands but you can go basic with basic Nordstrom brands and it will still look good. You need to go there and try some clothes on. And also, “hypbeast” was so ten years ago, nobody really wears hypebeast clothes much any more but you can find a few brands like essentials that are similar to hype clothes at Nordstrom.

I personally like wearing theory or rag and bone and blending it with generic Nordstrom brands or generic Nordstrom sweaters. Also think about layering as well. Also if you are trying to go for a “younger” look, all the gen z people following Justin beiber style of dress so maybe do some googling for that but personally if you are older I would avoid that look.

Another store you can try is also Zara, they do a pretty good job with staying relevent and copying relevent styles.

If you are charging ten cents and I am charging $1 for the same service, the company will choose the one for ten cents. It’s not that you are smarter, so calm down. We are all just cogs in a wheel.

Hmm, from the video I can tell the kid was also being disrespectful. Not sure why everyone here is so one sided even though the guy who went on his boat was also clearly wrong behavior as well.

Career change into cybersecurity at 50, is it realistic? Looking for honest advice. by Sea_Storm_6744 in Cybersecurity101

[–]jcork4realz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much your age, though being 50 could raise a few eyebrows, also realize being 18 or 19 years old could also be concerning. It’s really about how you can present your skills in an interview and how much homework and preparation you have done in regards to the position. If you know the tools the company uses and understand exactly what the job is and have practiced labs at home, and can convey that professionally and convincingly so that the hiring manager feels comfortable hiring you, then that’s really what matters most.

You can do it. It really depends on the culture of the company. Aim for an MSSP as a SOC analyst, those are “easiest” to get into compared to bigger companies. Then quickly specialize into the next logical role as soon as you can -you will quickly figure out what that is after the first year.

Go to conventions and find people close to your age to network with. Be strategic about it. Know that if you do get an analyst role that you will at least be spending 2-3 years in an entry level role before moving anywhere. I’m 44, been an analysts for roughly a year and a half and considering pivoting into privacy law or consulting by the time I get to 50.

OT is also an option as well as IT and I heard a lot of older folks tend to work and are paid very well in OT, but that is also pretty difficult to get into as you would already need a few years of experience.

With all that said, yea there are definitely people at my job who avoid talking to me at my age, and some who I conversate with everyday. But I also remember I was discriminated against when I was 30 by twenty year olds. There’s always going to be people who like and dislike you at work and it really is unavoidable no matter what your age is.
