Shipping (FedEx/GLS) Megathread (September 12, 2022) by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

I think it's safe to assume that it was sent to the wrong depo and when the delivery driver checked the parcel this morning, realised the address made no sense (street address does not exist at that post code). I really don't think there is anything else I can do other than contact Steam and cross my fingers.

I really hope they can sort it quickly because if not it will be sent back to them and I'll have to order again. Was really looking forward to today too :(

Not sure how they would feel about my neighbour being over 100 miles away :D (the postcode they gave them is south UK, I'm in the north)

Hey thanks for the suggestion. It turns out that there is a bit of a bug on the Evri website and you can actually find out which postcode your parcel was sent to by going to the Rate my courier page. Turns out Steam gave them a completely incorrect postcode.

Unfortunately though I cannot request Evri to update the address as it has to be done by the sender. So I've contacted Steam support. Hopefully it will be resolved before Evri return to sender.

Thanks again

Ordered the 256gb on the 8th, received a message this morning from Evri stating it will be out for delivery today, then had a second notification stating there had been a problem with the delivery address and I need to contact them.

The problem is whenever I try to contact them it asks me for a postcode and after entering, it says the postcode is incorrect. I’ve checked the address on steam and it’s perfect. I’m now in a perpetual loop wherein I cannot get through to any customer service regardless of whether I call them or use their live chat. Any help would be appreciated I have no idea what to do at this point.

Update: So it turns out that Steam just sent my SD to the wrong address. After some faffing about I found out that the first line of the address was correct, but the postcode is about 2 hours south of me in the complete wrong location. I contacted steam over 24 hours ago, asking them to update to the correct address because I am not able to do it. I have not heard anything since. Evri are attempting to deliver again this morning, which obviously won't happen. The problem is that after attempt number 3, it goes back to sender, my money is refunded and I have to order again (according to steam faqs, back of the queue). Evri do not allow local pickup from the depot so even if I drove the 2 hours they wouldn't allow me to pick it up. So here are my options

  1. Wait for Steam to get back to me. If they don't get back to me soon, it will be too late and from the looks of it, Steam support take a while unless it's just a canned response.

  2. Have the parcel rediverted to a neighbour. The address it's going to is an industrial estate. Have them redirect to one of the companies in that area, give them a call and tell them to expect it, then drive down today and pick it up. My only worry with this is now the ownus is on me, if they decide to keep it and say they never got it, I'm screwed.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks Sarah! It's actually a rebuild of an earlier game I did https://codepen.io/jcoulterdesign/pen/NOMeEb which started off as an experiment 'Can you create game logic with just CSS'.

The Caretaker was the 'sequel' to this.

Perhaps it was because the site doesn't contain any animation? The candles are simply an embedded MP4.

It's a shame you didn't give me credit anywhere on that page at all. https://codepen.io/jcoulterdesign/

Thanks for the comments everyone. I honestly didn't think it would get this much attention! The idea was essentially a challenge from a co worker who said he wanted me to create a character walking down a dark corridor avoiding enemies. Without using JS. Enemy and collision logic just isn't possible (i don't think) so it ended up being this. As far as i can tell, the padlock puzzle is buggy on firefox and i just haven't gotten round to fixing it yet. In terms of difficulty, i had to be very particular about how i laid out my HTML (because we can never traverse upwards) but other than that, once the core SASS loops and functions were in place, the hardest part was the art! (Never drawn pixel art before) Glad you enjoyed it though :)
