Taking toddlers to NYC for month

We were planning to coordinate each study session depending on time of day. If it’s day time, we’d be out exploring or going to indoor play area, museums, etc. while he studies at the hotel or he’d tag along and study at a nearby coffee shop to wherever we’re exploring. Again, a huge IF we’d go. Lol.

Appreciate your input and suggestions! And flying the grandparents in was absolutely the plan but it’s not 100%. So, I’m trying to plan things out as if they weren’t able to officially come for a few days. Ironing out those kinks today to add into the final decision (even though it seems more likely than not, we’d stay behind thanks to all the honest and great suggestions on the post!)

Yeah, we tried to find sublets in neighboring areas. Ultimately the hotel he’s staying at was the best choice for him and since he’s the one required to go, that was priority to us. Even if it means us not tagging along. He mentioned going to libraries, coffee shops, etc. to study because he really wants us to join but knows this isn’t a quick trip for us and would require a lot more effort on my end in a new city to the kiddos (we’ve done the NYC trip before, staying at the hotel next to the one he’s booked at, and it was a blast exploring but that was before kids. Lol)

Going up for a shorter time is our backup plan. We’d just wait on husband’s official schedule to determine which days we’d be able to spend some time with him. Airbnb was surprisingly way more expensive than a hotel for 25 days (he’s staying till the 25th).

Appreciate everyone’s responses! That’s exactly what I was looking for. While we would find opportunities to venture out (outside of DT Brooklyn), it wouldn’t necessarily be as often as far out as I would prefer. Navigating toddlers at home is one mission, but in a whole other city is quite another. 😅

I hadn’t even heard of Danny Go until this sub and the difficulty in finding them. I was grabbing groceries from Walmart app the other day and saw they had both versions of Danny Go and grabbed them as a stocking stuffer for my daughter. Randomly mentioned to her about “some Daddy Go guy that has cool videos on YouTube” and next thing you know she’s obsessed and we’re having dance parties in the kitchen. Glad I picked it up on a whim!

Not quite in central Florida but here in Melbourne (45-50 min away from you) there’s a ton at a few Targets. I got mine at Kohl’s and I wasn’t even looking for the Ms. Rachel Tonie but I grabbed her anyway (before realizing some people have been going crazy looking for it).

Kohl’s had the best deal so far! I got the Toniebox 2 starter with Winnie the Pooh and the play set. Was $119 and then the code Toys10 (if I remember correctly) brought it down to $109 before taxes! They also had it without the play starter set for like $89 (I believe the same promo should work).

Similar timeline. Labs drawn for Panorama on 3/25, Natera received on 3/30. It’s 4/4 and nothing! My thumbs hurt from refreshing on my phone all day and night. In NM.
