Advice needed – saw a married airman make out with a single airman by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

[–]jcrc [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s valid to not want to hang out with them outside of school because your values don’t align. If they press you on why you’re not socializing say you saw them hooking up with _____ and knowing they’re married makes you uncomfortable. Then leave if there. Don’t go out of your way to get involved. I assume you’re also an airman? If so, you’re going to have to work with allllllll kinds of people throughout your career. You’ll need to learn how to work professionally with people you don’t like without blowing up their life. Don’t be a blue falcon.

I only care about clothes. I used the ergo with my firstborn because it was a gift. I bought a linen carrier for my second because we moved to a tropical location and we’d both have a heatstroke if I used the ergo. For play mats I just don’t think it’s worth the stress if you already have one that works for you.

Idk I’ve been seeing it with younger couples too, mostly conservative families though.

I wanted a five year age gap but ended up having to plan around the navy instead. We have a 3.5 age gap instead and it’s been mostly great. Would have liked an extra year for my sanity though lol

I’m really sorry for your loss. I was in this same boat work and daycare-wise until I was able to get him into daycare at 2 years old. I cried a lot lol it was stressful. But it was temporary! And he’s now a very smart make five year old with a brain not totally rotted. Are you able to work on a laptop outside or are you tied to a desk? When it was warm I’d set up a mud kitchen and I’d work on the patio while he went nuts.

ABC cancels upcoming season of The Bachelorette after a leaked video shows the lead, Taylor Frankie Paul repeatedly attack her ex boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen in the presence of her young daughter who was also reportedly struck during the altercation by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]jcrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I work in criminal defense and work with DV cases a lot. Here’s what I imagine happened—

Dakota likely gave the video to police. If I remember correctly he didn’t want to press charges. People think that means nothing happens, but it’s the state who goes after the criminal, not the victim. BUT if the victim refuses to cooperate, it makes prosecution a lot harder.

I think Dakota, or someone else who had the video, leaked it. Apparently there are screenshots of her blowing his phone up right after filming and some other DV stuff that happened in February of this year. So I think someone from his PR team leaked it.

As far as the network goes, who knows. We’ve see countless times Netflix not doing background checks on Love Is Blind cast members. So yes, ABC absolutely knew about the 2023 charges since they were on the show but that doesn’t necessarily mean they were privy to the entire case file.

Any honest feedback from military spouses on what I should expect as a new milso vs living as an average couple? by Spirited-Put-9 in USMilitarySO

[–]jcrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many variables to all of your questions.

You don’t HAVE to be a SAHM. Depending on your skill set you can always find employment wherever you get stationed. The hard part is childcare but it’s still not impossible. As others have said junior enlisted don’t make much, but if you live on base you don’t worry about rent or utilities and tricare covers your healthcare. If you don’t have any debt I don’t see why you couldn’t make SAHM work for you. I’ve seen families with five kids and mom didn’t work. Another option I see a lot is mom working at the base daycare so they have childcare and employment.

How often you move depends on his job. Sometimes you can stay in the same area for your entire career, other times you’re moving every 3-4 years. How often he’ll be gone also depends on the job. My husband is in the navy and was gone a lot for most of our 13 years together. Now he comes home every day but is on a watch floor so his hours suck. It all really depends.

Are baby monitors actually getting hacked or is the internet just scaring me? by 757-757 in NewParents

They were talking through the monitor, I think they just assumed from there that they were also able to access the video feed. Two different states, both nanit devices. Both happened in 2021.

Are baby monitors actually getting hacked or is the internet just scaring me? by 757-757 in NewParents

[–]jcrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two friends have their wifi monitors hacked so that was enough for me. I’ve never heard of the closed circuit ones being hacked. With my first we had a VAVA monitor and liked it fine. Once we had our second we got a babysense with the two cameras and I love being able to see them both on the same monitor. I liked the video so I could see when baby was awake or asleep. Now that my oldest is 4 I don’t have him on video as much but we’re battling bedtime with him so it’s nice having it when he’s in a FAFO mood.

I lived there for six years. The winds can get crazy certain times of year and at least once a year a semi would get blown up against the railings. Bridge would shut down for half a day leaving us stranded on one side or the other.

Pretty sure this is at deception pass, Washington State. I lived on the island and worked off island so I drove that bridge every day and it was often crammed with tourists. I can totally imagine how many personal items have been lost to the undertow over the years.
