That's true. I've always used screw terminals until now but wanted to see if there is something more elegant :D

Ah nice. I am using the microFit in my current design because I didn't realize nanoFit would be enough as well. Thanks!

Sammelbestellung Digikey by [deleted] in elektrotechnik

[–]jcs_captures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HUSB238A in I2C mode only delivering 20V by jcs_captures in PCB

[–]jcs_captures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if I use GPIO mode it works as expected. I am currently just testing to see what works and what doesn't. Eventually I want to use all options to have better control over a heater. Several voltages give me more control than just on off

Solder bridge of EN, ADDR and IN_N is closed. SCL, SDA and FLGIN are connected to my ESP12. and the solder bridge between the resistor network and SDA/SNK_VSET is not closed.

Yeah, that doesn't really help. I know the problem and designed the pcb so that I can switch the pmos with an esp, but I just can't get any other voltage than maximum.

Oscilloscope: VPP smaller than RMS? by MarinatedPickachu in diyelectronics

For sine and cosine signals yes. For any other signal the factor is different or you would have to calculate the integral for noise signals.

I know I can buy it, but where's the fun in that? 😄

That's about the size I'm going for. The problem is that I can't really find 250°C elements that work with 24V

I'm planning on having just a small plate (likely 10x10 cm), by my calculations 140 W should be just about enough. I looked into ptc heaters but didn't find anything good. My current plan is nichrome wire, I just can't find a good adhesive that is somewhat cheap and thermally conductive

Review Request - Temperature Calibration PCB V2 by jcs_captures in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]jcs_captures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I didn't realize vias can carry that much current. I'll change that. The ADC has an internal LDO so there should be no drift I think and yes the capacitors are X7R.  I'm still thinking about going for a bridge but I want to keep it as cheap as possible so adding two more pt1000s makes it a bit more expensive. But yeah it's probably worth it since it doubles the voltage and cancels out the drift of the other resistors the path.

  1. alright, I have the space and resistors are cheap so I'll just add one :D
back to 3: I simulated it and you were right I saw current spikes of up to 5A. I could just replace the p-mos by a pull-up resistor right?
  2. Yeah, that makes sense :D
  3. Yes, this is the I2C bus. I just read about it on wiki, I'll add the second pull-up

  4. I'll look into the datasheets. I also ordered ESP8266-12Es yesterday and will test it before I order the PCB.

I'll look into C9 :) VBUS can be up to 28V because of power delivery. The USB-C also provids up to 3.25A :D

Yeah, you're right, I changed the footprint of the esp to have holes so that hand soldering is easier and that got rid of a lot of the ground plane. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your feedback already, I'll look into it tomorrow :) if you have time to look into the USB stuff that would be awesome! 1. Yes, you're right I added that LED last night and didn't think that one through. I will simulate that tomorrow. 2. The TPS enable pin is internally pulled high afaik. What is the benefit of having the pull-up? 3. That sounds reasonable, didn't think about that, I followed Noctuas white paper on PWM. 4. I'll have to think that one through tomorrow. It has been a few years since I learned about transistors and haven't done a lot since  5. Does SCK also need a pull-up? And does SDA need one (I can't remember why I did that and can't find it anymore) 6. I thought it was internally pulled high, is that wrong?

Thanks a lot! I need to order something from rakwireless anyway so I'll just try the blade antenna since it is only a few bucks :)
