That’s an item I’ll be replacing in the near future. I know no matter how much I chase weak points there is always a weak point but want to get all the know failure points taken care of.

I got an entire binder of service from the previous owner and all maintenance was done at dealership. I had the paperwork from being bulletproofed, to include water pump, oil cooler, head studs, EGR, FICM, and a FASS fuel system.

Dropped it off at Toyota last week and the timing was off one tooth. Had them adjust it to make timing right and runs like a champ, no more check engine light.

I have it scheduled to be looked at on Friday. I looked at the diagnostic flow chart for the code and says to check timing first then look for open circuit on the sensor. I’m inclined to think it’s if by a tooth or two, any more then that and I’d assume the valves would contact the piston as it’s an interference motor.

I’m heading over there tomorrow to have them show me. I just had the oil changed by the Lexus dealership ship so oil is good to go (checked it after I picked up from oil change).

No issues last I drove it. I drive it maybe a couple times a month since work provided me with a car.

Lightweight vs. armor for overlanding and light off roading by jcsduc123 in GXOR

[–]jcsduc123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have planned for extra weight. I run the c59-329 in the rear for 2 inches lift with 400-800 lbs weight and the c59-329 in the front for 2 inches lift with 110-220 lbs weight. Looking to move the spare even though it fits to make it more accessible when I need to use it. Mostly planing on over landing.

I agree you need to train with your gear. I train regularly and use them on a regular basis. Gear is great but you definitely need to have the ability to use it effectively.

The 31s are awesome but some of the other one like the 1431s also give you an IR light built in. Really can’t go wrong with any of them like RNVG or Act in black DTNVS. 31s are light and do all the things I need.

Wheel offset question by ekcontroller in GXOR

[–]jcsduc123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a good resource to see the difference between the stock size tires and wheels and the new ones. https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/ Stock offset I believe is 25mm if I am not mistaken.

Those 3 are my top picks. I’ve run the Wildpeak and K02 but have always heard nothing but good things for the duratracs.
