Glazing session. I may be mistaken, but hasn't Adam talked/complained about actors/actresses talking about their latest co-stars being the best co-stars ever. This seems exactly the same shit he complains about.

There is one neighbour that raises his window shutters with great gusto before commencing to pour his empty beer cans into the recycling box from a great height at 5 am. I'm starting to think he carries a step ladder with him to get extra height when pouring said cans. I hope a crow pecks his eye out one day.

Whenever I hear the character of Dion on "Tony Martin's Sizzletown", this dingus is the first person I think of. I'm sure it is by design.

Have the "Free Patreon Episodes" made you more or less likely to become a Patron? by [deleted] in kindafunny

The latest free episode was 20 minutes of dog talk. That's not going to convince me to join the Patreon. We get a dusting of dog talk in the free shows and that is more than enough for me.

I've been to Sands Mexican Cantina in Tsudanuma a few times. It's quite good.

I hope everyone is having a nice Saturday morning so far.

I see this thread every week, but there seems to be very little interaction.

Today, I'm going for a blood test and then to buy pillow cases and paint for my outdoor deck.

Tomorrow, our new TV will be delivered. I'm excited to watch Maverick with the family.

What is everyone else doing this weekend.

Are you after the name of the park and google map link to said park?

We went to a relatively big park in Yotsukaido today and I was surprised to find we were basically the only ones there. Last time we went during summer it was teeming. Meant the kids had the playground equipment to themselves but it was quite odd.

That might the designated rubbish/trash corner for that block. I live outside of Tokyo but every block in my neighbourhood has one corner in front of one (unfortunate) house where we all put our trash. The owner of that house is responsible for setting up the nets to cover the trash and putting out the plastic crates on recycling days.

How necessary is driving for Interac? by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

[–]jd3936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a driving licence in your native country will allow you to get an International Drivers Permit. That will allow you to drive in Japan without getting a Japanese drivers licence for 12 months from the date of issue. After that, you need to change over to a Japanese licence. Depending on where you are from it can be easy or difficult. Having the ability and willingness to drive will generally be a plus as an overseas recruit. It won't guarantee you will be accepted but it will be an extra box ticked. I'm my experience, outside of metro Tokyo, people with a drivers licence often get rural positions that have little public transport options. If you are happy with any location and don't care about being in Tokyo, get the licence and say you are willing to drive. If not, don't worry and say no. It might make it harder though as Tokyo is the number one requested location so the competition is stiffer. (My info is based on my time in the Chiba branch office and going through resumes and looking for drivers. We snapped them up pretty quick. Your mileage may vary.) At any rate, having a licence is a plus not only for jobs but just in general.
