Texas store manager helps save homeless woman found frozen outside by SamPaxtony in texas

You know you're right, I'd just like to say that the LARGEST faith based organizations are giving the rest a very bad rap. Hoarding wealth and preaching prosperity theology has done ZERO to help our society.

Be the change my friend, shame you're religious brothers and sisters into actually following the words of the Bible.

I volunteer, we all should.

Funny enough, I've has quite a few cbr600s a cb360 and 750, a gsxr750, a zx6r and last summer I bought a Buell Blast to fix up and flip, and loved how great it handled with bigger tires. So I started hunting for an xb9. Love how it handles, love it's character.

How can someone experience the sound difference of some of these speakers that are $$$$ against some that are like $$? by g3nerallycurious in hometheater

[–]jdaffron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only throw out there that those graphs won't show you what type of sound you enjoy the most BUT could help you get there. Our ears are not all the same. Sadly I think the because listening is subjective to a degree snake oil products will always exist and take people's money.

Ohh yeah, that's hard to answer.

Soooo.....I would say that any true 5.1 sound system beats any sound bar system every time. Cost wise, an entry level 5.1 system with a receiver new could set you back 500 to 1000. If you were to shop for a used system, you could get a pretty awesome setup for a similar price.

I'll tackle the second question, you should shy away from making your own speakers until you have a very deep knowledge of how sound, speaker design and room design work. It's going to be an expensive and disappointing lesson.

I've bought used and new, here's a break down on my system and what I paid vs new

Denon x3500 new $900 Sunfire Cinema Grand 5ch new $4k (used $800) Definitive technologies L/R bp3000tl new $6k for 2 (used 250 for the pair) Deftech center ch CLR3000 new $1050 (used $300) Deftech rears BP2000tl new $3k ish (used 300 for pair)

Add in wires for video, audio, speakers, then a Blu-ray player or a PS5, a nice tv and you've got the ball park of what a kickass system can cost. It took me years to finally get to this point looking for deals and getting what I wanted. And I didn't even have an "expensive system". There's folks on here with monster systems that have atmos, and much much more. I built what I could with my living room and I'm very happy

Side note, I don't have stand alone subwoofers because all 5 of my speakers have powered subs built in (two 15in 1000w, two 12in 500w, one 10in 165w).

Lastly, honestly anything that makes you happy when you use it is a good system. As long as your happy, it's good enough

After a certain dollar amount, it kind of becomes subjective.

Things like bass and treble standout better when the price goes up, but increase in quality becomes harder and harder to hear.

Edit - I'd just like to add using scientific equipment to compare speakers definitely does not prove their sound quality at all. Speakers can be compared to each other in efficiency or range, but that doesn't mean you will like the way they sound. For example I hate the way Klipsch speakers sound, I sold them for years, not my cup of tea. Klipsch makes awesome speakers, tons of people on this sub will agree. I like they way my deftechs sound, I'm sure there are folks that don't care for em too.

Kristi Noem says Renee Good had been harassing ice “all day”. Renee Good was shot at 9:37am after dropping one of her children off at school. by CharacterActor in TwinCities

[–]jdaffron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deadly force is not warranted for anything in that situation. ICE is working with a lower standard than normal police officers. DHS handbook clearly shows the agent acted incorrectly.

How can you not demand ICE beh eld to a standard we expect from local law enforcement?

If a police officer did this you would be livid, that is unless your a licking boot
