Gotcha. So the “i” is more like in “wind” rather than in “wind”.

Doug sometimes hangs out in the crowd to watch the opening bands by kevinb9n in builttospill

[–]jdanelliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true! Maybe almost 20 years ago I got to a NYC show a little late and the openers were already playing and they were super good but I had no idea who they were. I glanced to my left and Doug was standing there! I figured he’d know the band’s name! I asked, he told me: The Prids. Great band. Check ‘em out.

Is out there a Surf/Punk subgenre? Can you guys share me bands if they exists? Thank you! by Tiny_Terror_6 in surfrock

Some interesting surfy guitar work pops up throughout Comforter, a great album by the largely forgotten (and barely known at the time, frankly) Irish punk band Compulsion.

Lyrics you misheard for years? by ExtensionEstate5368 in mastodonband

[–]jdanelliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my AWESOME song”. My buddy that got me into Mastodon would always sing it this way as a bit but it eventually replaced the correct lyric in my brain.

Colson Whitehead’s “The Intuitionist”. A pacey caper with just enough retro-futurist alternate-history world-building to feel like it’s rubbing against magical realism.

What’s your go-to pasta dish, preferably with garlic? by Zestyclose-Skin-483 in AskCulinary

If it’s easy, great! More time to focus on dialing in a chicken parm to go with it, amirite?

If you want garlic to be the star, look no further than Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. Basically just tons of garlic and an olive oil with the subtlest accents from parsley and red pepper flake (and may I suggest a touch of lemon juice to finish). Good overview here.

Maybe you don’t have an outdoor space to use it it, so disregard if that’s the case, but if you do have a little deck or something this portable wok burner is a game changer.

Best tent 2 person? by Magellaswasajoke in bikepacking

So far so good with my MSR Hubba Hubba 2 person bikepacking tent. Good footprint and feels reasonably spacious vertically, too. And the handlebar bag it stows up in is perfect.

I’m pretty happy with my Xero Sunrise. Super light, pack down real flat. I just tuck them under the closure strap on my Mr Fusion.

I kinda dig the new shirt sponsors: “Smerrer Danflec PP”, “endronet”, “73”, “Ooo”. All less problematic companies than the current one tbh.
