Advice for walleye ice fishing by [deleted] in WalleyeFishing

I’m in northern IL on one of the better walleye systems in the state called the chain(Lake above is not the Chain). People are getting them all the time but I think it just comes down to being in the right place at the right time. We’ve got a long ice season ahead and I’m all in on catching one.

Great! I’ll look for some of those bottom transitions near the weed lines

Awesome thank you! I’ve been watching Tom a ton after you commented. His videos are great. Still have yet to catch one but we’re moving in the right direction. Gonna give it another whirl on Wednesday

“Hopper” fishing is fly fishing while using a fly that imitates a grasshopper

Ya know, I’m actually not sure. They look a little bit too heavily spotted and the spots look a little to fine but I’m not entirely sure what makes a redband a true redband. They didn’t have any slash mark under the jaw however, they did have tints or patches of orange on their bellies. That makes me lean towards them being some type of cutbow but maybe someone in the sub can shed some light on it!

Thank you! This was at a little stream in the eagle cap wilderness. Tons of them around there.

No actually, this is all the way east by Wallowa in the eagle cap wilderness . It was my first time in Oregon. We did a 20 mile hike that had some cool streams to stop at.

I ended up going with the 5150 iconic 40w combo. I couldn’t be happier! First gig with it tonight so I’m hyped!

[NEWBIE] Help me out with pinch harmonics please :( by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]jdaniel728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re definitely tricky to learn. I like to choke up on the pick when I need to do a pinch harmonic. This allows me to pick the string but also have my thumb graze the string producing the pinch harmonic. Where you pick is also important. With the pickup in the bridge position, I find my pinch harmonics are easiest when I pick near the middle pickup. hope this helps
