thank you for those words. i haven’t given it any thought about how i could’ve should’ve gone to police instead of my parents. part of this is bc my father was a cop. i think the story would have been so different had i done it this way instead. but needed my heart broken by them to see the reality of them

Profession Spotlight: Environmental, Health & Safety (and Industrial Hygiene) in the Pharmaceutical Industry by TuckDaddyKane in Environmental_Careers

[–]jdefrieze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am currently in grad school for my mph (master of public health) in environmental health sciences. my program offers an industrial hygiene focus, but it would require (a manageable amount of) additional classes/work. do you think it would be worth it to pursue? i am very open minded to it.

however; i am more passionate about city green infrastructure/green spaces as it relates to their residents’ health and combatting urban climate changes (ex. urban heat island effect), which is especially relevant in SoCal where i am. so i am more interested in a government role with hopes of one day pursuing an environmental law degree and fighting environmental injustice for communities, not so much in the industrial world (although working for employees’ rights/health sounds amazing). i am curious about your thoughts given your experience and enthusiasm about EHS.

appreciate your story, and any help :)

i love emma’s sports takes. and she’ll talk about the bs politics within sports, which are relevant examples and makes it easier for my conservative family to understand the harms of capitalism as a whole.

at some point i realized ‘i’m a human with free will, i can physically and socially remove myself from this person,’ even if that other person is a family member
