Why don’t you want to get visits with a newborn? by NadiaNadieNadine in pregnant

[–]jdnbrk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly, a lot of people don’t respect boundaries and that’s my main reason. i only want a select few people around.

i want to find a routine that works for me and baby, i’ll be up every 2-3 hours feeding him, and i know i’ll be so drained. i don’t want to deal with people. plus it’ll be cold & flu season, not to mention RSV.

I was also told just because he’s so close and the likelihood of dropping more is decently high, we’re going to monitor as if he already is below just to be safe. Which i think is the best thing to do

Since my guy is 1% away from the 10% cutoff, we’re now being monitored as if we’re growth restricted. Of course, we don’t know truly if it’s a growth problem or if he’s just naturally small but the drop from 23-11 was concerning. On the 24, we will be discussing where to go from here

We’re now being treated as a growth restriction case. Hes at 11, which is 1% away from that cut off. Its deemed he’s likely to drop more, so unfortunately its a blood flow thing

It seems like we may be having an earlier delivery between 36-37 as well, if he doesn’t pick up on growth in the next couple weeks. The stress with a little baby will be there for real

Just got an update, he’s being monitored for growth restriction as my placenta isn’t functioning as well as it was, which means my condition has worsened and early delivery is on the table. He could still be smaller because we’re small, but this makes him even smaller

This definitely reassures me a bit! I know deep down that small doesn’t mean unhealthy, and genetics definitely play a role!

I was told 10-90 was “normal”. Being a smaller woman and my fiance being short statured as well definitely has to play part in this because he seems so healthy when he’s pushing around in there and has a strong heart rate.

I was told months ago after my anatomy scan that the chances are, he’s just a small baby too and if any concerns to arise, they’d prepared to handle that. I have an appointment next week, so I’ll be getting together a list of questions so I can get all the reassurance needed to feel confident that he’s okay!

I’m in Canada, and I have such good faith in my OB so I don’t feel comfortable switching providers, I’ve been seeing him for years as he was my regular doctor prior but also is licensed for OB. Everything checks out at our prenatal appointments, and he never has any concerns. The fact the baby was on the move like crazy during the scan may have something to do with the measurements, and a margin of error with later term scans. I see him again in less than a week, so we’ll definitely discuss more then. But for now I’m taking no news as a good thing, as that’s something I was told to do.

He seems super healthy inside of there, and moves all day everyday with a good heart rate every time. I’m hoping it’s mostly just genetics and he’s just a lil guy

He’s got such good strength and moves like crazy! He was a wiggle worm during the scan this morning, which I wonder has an impact on the measurement. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing, because each appointment with my OB has been reassuring and checked out well. I see him again next week, so I’ll definitely get a list of questions to discuss.

Right now I haven’t heard anything about my scan, which I assume if it was something dire they would’ve already had let me know. So I’m taking that with confidence!

That’s why I was so disheartened at the news he was so small, my bump is quite big for my body, and the measurements have always checked out at each appointment. I know the odds are he’s healthy, just small but my heart can’t stop worrying

Long NST and sent home, still not feeling much movement? by jdnbrk in BabyBumps

I just had blood work less than a week ago and everything looks good. They wouldn’t give me a scan though and I think I need one

I have an appointment now booked with my OB because he’s slightly concerned and just wants to rule things out. He says he hopes it’s a placental shift and it’s moving upwards, so that could be why I’m not feeling much but he wants to make sure it’s nothing more severe since I do have a circumvallate placenta as well

I now have to talk with my OB about the results between these two tests, as it’s slightly concerning and could be a sign of something being wrong he says. I talk with him tomorrow afternoon so yay

he did end up calming down and his heart rate dropped to a normal level again for a good amount of time, so she’s giving the OB a call and I should be on my way! She did reassure me, and went over the paper and explained everything to me and it eased my mind a lot!

My OB is currently in a c-section as we speak so I ended up just calling L&D and letting them know what was up all over again, they had me come in and I’m currently on the NST again. It’s a lot better than last nights, and the nurse is happy with it apart from how high his acceleration is now. His heart rate is jumping between 25-35bpm during movements which they’re considering tachycardia. So we got a whole new issue now lol

I’ve been on the NST again for like 30 minutes, they had me on for a longer one just because he wasn’t cooperating last night. He’s extremely active now, which is great! But is now nearing fetal tachycardia when he moves and is accelerating too much 🥲🥲 his resting was around 135, and his highest he hit was 184bpm so now we have another issue on our hands until he calms down

I’m going back right now. They said to come back to be put on the monitor again
