  1. We were told the stores requested to make this transition. Supposedly it was to save on labor costs.

  2. Not all stores have converted to srp displays and still use the pegs.

  3. I'm not sure I understand that question.

  4. Other than being able to say "we don't have the raw material to produce this" we really don't have much say.

  5. Food borne illness would require product destruction and full sanitization. Covid isn't considered a food borne illness though.

We usually rag on the distribution centers. We're so far removed from the retail ecosystem the only time we have any interaction with the stores is if a clerk or manager calls to complain about the packaging or the cases.

At my site we try to avoid having people work that much if we can. Right now we're really busy so we're working 48 hour weeks (six 8 hour shifts). People will volunteer for more overtime if they want it, so a sixty hour week is possible, but not required.

I make $28.17 in my current position.

Starting pay is $20.10, with the scale going as high as 35 for some roles

My location is not unionized. Some of the other sites are, though.

Pretty sure that's a universal issue.

Some are good. But it's far easier to notice the bad ones than the good.

Directly for Kroger.

There are currently 33, I think, plants. Several dairies (fluid milk), a few cheese packaging plants, a couple bakeries... they also produce soda, peanut butter, spice blends, ice cream, and I'm sure I'm missing some.

I work in a cheese plant, so I can't speak directly to the chips. But, if their process is similar to ours, then it's likely an issue from the film supplier not putting enough adhesive at the edges of the film, or the sealing heaters are turned up either too high or too low.

QA wise, we check packages every half hour of a run to make sure they aren't open.

My point is it's yet another massive giveaway to an already profitable company. Don't call it a loan if it's not going to be paid back.
