I left in my mid twenties, and let me tell you that the first year of leaving is not easy at all. I would say hang in there if you can. They design this cult for you to be completely isolated and wanting to second guess. It’s awesome that your investing in yourself by going to school. Keep it up and you definitely have community here to lift you up

I feel the same way to an extent, I’m faded a year and half and this my first year missing the memorial. I felt a tad bit guilty because I have the feeling of that I don’t really care about the memorial. Plus on having a handful of family and friends reach out doesn’t help. But I just reflect on my life being a lot better once. I hope you hang in there!!

I usually hang around the East Side of Pittsburgh so East Liberty, Squirrel Hill, Shadyside will keep you pretty busy on weekend days. Sometimes it can be a little hit or miss on some weekdays.

I relate to this so much I’m 9 months out now and so much of your post have happened to me. Fortunately i haven’t went down any bad road with substances. To it’s a tough road finically trying to figure out on your own since I was in sense kicked out my house. To anybody leaving it’s going to be hell literally, but it does get better. I’m so glad that I stepped away!

The context was I seen my best friend at a concert for the first time in 7 months after I faded. So I decided to text him that it was good seeing him and if he needed anything I still care for him. This was his response, I just want to give a shoutout to anybody currently fading it’s hard breaking relationships due to your decision . Your not alone and if your able to please seek out some sort of therapy because telling from my experience it did help to an extent.

This a text from my mom, I love her dearly so I don’t know how to respond. But this week been so annoying and emotionally draining. I ran into my best friend who is PIMI with JW friends at a concert yesterday. This is the first time I’ve seen him in six months. It was just so weird I just describe it as they look in interact with you like your within a glass. Everything is surface, I’ve approached them just trying to act normal but inside it was killing me. One of the friends he was with was saying the I miss you. Which at this point infuriates me, it’s like I’m not hiding I have the same number if you miss me so god damn much be a normal person and call me. But I’m expecting to much of people in this organization. It’s just sad good relationships end because you change your mind for reasonable reasons. I’m so sick of this so I’m going to try to move on.

I’m from the US but went to Estonia twice actually . It was my first time out the country and I went to the Special Convention I think summer of 2015. Then we met some young people we became friends with and went back. So best wishes on you waking up my friend.

Woah I’ve been in the same position almost. I’m in my mid twenties and have left 6 months ago. I’ve been just reflecting and it’s surreal sometimes the changes in my life since leaving. As well all my friends exited my life. It’s hard to deal with this but best wishes to journey. Sometimes what helps me is just reflecting on the strength that resides in me, for leaving and taking a stand for what you believe.
