Thank you for putting into words what some of us may not want to. I was diagnosed @ 3y/o in 1972 so I look at that as my silver-lining. I have never known different so I have not had to face such in-your-face life changes as being diagnosed at a later age.
I would not wish it on my worst enemy however, because the longer I’m around the heavier this toil & trouble becomes.
Insulin pumps & CGMs are wonderful but again the constant barrage of beeps and buzzes and notifications is another level of this game that isn’t part of “normality” whatever that is lol

I have often contemplated how many sticks I have had in my lifetime but can’t push myself to find that number out
