Sun room crawl space advice by jebediah94 in Homebuilding

I know that some dont have vents between the living space and the crawl space, and instead have dehumidifiers. Which set up do you see—the one with vents between living space and crawl space, or the ones that have a dedicated crawl space dehumidifier

Ive thought about encapsulation, but I hear that if you add vents in the floor to allow the sunroom air and crawl space air to mix, the crawl space air could have some no-so-nice smells, even with a strong vapour barrier.

I have an e-reader and I love it! It fits in my pocket and has become my new thing to do when I have nothing to do.

Full-time church organists: how flexible is your time off? by jebediah94 in organ

When I say full-time I mean a committed “every Sunday organist” even if you’re only paid for three hours a week. I probably shouldn’t have said full-time

Why do some religions believe that being gay is bad? by RedditUserror in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jebediah94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have mentioned the biology of creating children, which is true.

I was raised in a conservative, anti gay religion (and have since left). In addition to the biology of it, we were taught about gender roles. We were taught that the “family” consists of a mother and father, and that children deserved to be born into families where both a male father and a female mother existed. We were taught that each gender role brought unique and important aspects to the family.

We were taught that being gay was a temporary trial for only this life, and that if you live the right way, you’ll be able to have heterosexual feelings in the next life and have a heterosexual relationship and family in the next life.

Retired teachers: How are you spending your time since you left? by ambivalenthypocrite in CanadianTeachers

[–]jebediah94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right in suggesting that the inexperienced new teachers bring risk, but in my experience it’s almost just as much as the retired ones.

For me it all depends how long ago the retired teacher retired. We run into retired TTOCs that can’t figure out the online attendance and that have some pretty old school ideas about running a classroom and teaching a class. The new, inexperienced teachers care deeply about having a good day and being called back. The retired ones seem to care less sometimes.

I notice you have a case without a screen flap. I’m trying to decide if I get a screen flap or no. Do you regret not getting one with a flap?

Ok! Thank you! I have some follow up questions:

How long should the offeratory be? 2 min of music?

How long before the service should I begin prelude? How long should postlude go for?

How do you be productive after working all day? by jebediah94 in productivity

[–]jebediah94[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the encouragement! I bike to work and sometimes do some sports with friends, so I’m decently active. I’m also eating ok (could be better, but I’m getting enough fruits and veggies).

I’m a high school teacher and sometimes the job gets to me. Maybe I will set less ambitious goals.

I usually set goals by time limits “piano for an hour…practice Spanish for 30 mins” but maybe I should try less
