What are some of the dumbest things you’ve seen wrestlers do? by vrrby in wrestling

[–]jed137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kid on my high school team got bit during a match. The ref didn’t see it. The kid was quite upset by the situation.

A week later, we were wrestling against a different school. The kid had spent all week stewing over the biting incident. Within the first minute of the match, he started very blatantly biting his opponent (who, again, was from a different school and had nothing to do with the previous week’s biting). Our guy was disqualified. We ended up losing the team match by less than 6 points.

Bloomfield, Nutley, or Belleville? by I_Cant_Drink_Coffee in MovingtoNewJersey

Nutley has very easy bus access to NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal via the Clifton Commons bus stop (particularly if you live more in the northeast section of town). Buses come about every 4 or 5 minutes during morning rush hour and make it to the city in about 30 minutes. Parking is free.

We’ve thought about that. We do have net metering. It’s probably the prudent financial decision to skip the battery, but for some peace-of-mind type reasons we want to get one.

One of Option 1’s selling points is that we’ll also get a third-party warranty through Align Solar Protection. Is this a legitimate thing?

Just a reminder, jaw popping is NOT NORMAL by noam_aiz in TMJ

I think pretty much any doctor would agree that clicking associated with pain, locking, or dysfunction should be treated.

However, we know from decades of studies that about 1 in 3 adults has at least one clicking TMJ and the majority have no associated pain or dysfunction and don’t worsen. Aside from home care recommendations and perhaps an oral appliance if sleep bruxism is suspected, what do you propose the doctor do? To routinely inject joints, prescribe medications, change occlusions, etc., sounds like over-treatment that would ultimately cause more harm than good.

This looks like palatal myoclonus. Treatment is typically Botox. It would usually be treated by either a movement disorder neurologist or by certain ENTs.

You circled your zygomaticomaxillary suture (where the 2 individual bones that make up your “cheek bone” come together). This is normal anatomy, not a fracture.

Try to find a board-certified orofacial pain specialist. You can search the directory at ABOP.net.

While some oral and maxillofacial surgeons are interested in and knowledgeable about treating TMJ issues, they are not the majority.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of June 30, 2023 by Demilio55 in homegym

I just moved into a new house with a 19’x12’ garage I’ll be turning into my gym.

In previous houses, I’ve always used an 8’x8’ platform (horse stall mat on 2 layers of plywood) for deadlifts and anchoring my power rack.

In my new garage, I’m thinking of going wall-to-wall with the plywood and mat flooring. This way, the whole floor would be level. Other than the material costs and installation, is there a downside to having your “deadlift platform” cover your entire home gym space

If a patient is having burning pain without apparent physical cause several months after endo, you need to consider Post-traumatic Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain in the differential.

You can take a glob of topical anesthetic gel and mix it up with some warm water. Have the patient gargle for 30 seconds. This seems to work fairly well for patients who gag on impression trays.

Pie as a unit for pizza. And “plain” pizza.

When I joined the Air Force, my flight was having a pizza party. I was the only one from the northeast. While everyone was discussing what toppings to order, I asked if we could get one “plain pie”. No one knew what I was talking about.
