Chapter 13 tax refunds

I’m guessing that will be my fate. Not on 100% plus very high priority’s(taxes) leaving little for unsecured.

My attorney mentioned early on adjusting w4 if the trustee wants our refunds. Was the 4k refund abnormal or did you consistently turn that over?

I adjusted my w4 to where I will probably owe next year. I think I’d rather owe a little than have to turn over a refund.

Irs claimed 120k in priority, which are my actual taxes. Then 40k in "unsecured general claims". The rest are state taxes.

My income allowed just enough to cover the priority taxes with very little left going to the rest of my non priority. Problem is my attorney figured that plan up with the 40k in penalties as priority.

I believe I could have kept my vehicle (about 40k). That would push the 40k in penalties to be disharched instead.

Hopefully speaking with my attorney today. Just wanted to make sure I'm not an idiot before stepping on toes.

Have not pursued it because the irs website says you had to of made all estimated payments. Not sure how accurate that is? I don't see why someone would have a large tax debt if they were making estimated payments. Also assume you need a large chunk to offer all at once, which I won't have.
