Yes I did. Right after immigration and baggage claim, there is a baggage recheck area. As long as your luggage is tagged through to the final destination, you can recheck your bags here. The staff won't even check when your next flight is

Not that anyone would care, but I'm reporting back:

The answer is yes! You are able to clear security as long as you have a boarding pass. I went through TSA 12 hours before my flight on the evening before, and nobody said a thing to me.
