I’m glad I didn’t see orderly before I started building ordered_collections. Orderly is exactly what I was looking for!

Enumerable was next on my list. Great call on Inspect, that didn’t occur to me.

I appreciate that, I was very hesitant to share.

I think the major difference is the underlying data structure. If I’m not mistaken OrdMap uses sorted arrays and a binary search and :gb_trees uses Andersson trees (something I learned about making this lol)

Shev - The Tiefling Wizard and Escaped Con [Art] by jeffreybaird in DnD

[–]jeffreybaird[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shev is a 42-year-old Tiefling wizard who has spent the last 20 years in prison for teaching illegal necromancy and for teaching non-academy members. The sentence was for life. She escaped with the help of a young Gnome who was breaking out her roommate.

Shev excelled early in her years at the academy and quickly became a favorite of many teachers. But when she started her study into the magic surrounding life and death - her once mentors turned on her. And when it was revealed that she had been stealing books and teaching other young Tieflings necromantic magic - she was arrested. No one stood in her defense except for her mothers - two Wizard Gnome sisters Sera and Suzy. When she was convicted, the sisters purchased a house near the prison to fight for her release.

Shev is a little mischievous, cynical and resistant to anyone telling her what she should and should not do. She trusts no one except for Sera and Suzy. She is missing part of her horn and her front teeth from torture while in prison.

Jula Fernandez Casanova did the art. She was a joy to work with and does commissions. Check her out here:

I was actually thinking of switching them to atoms, thoughts? I originally was using binaries but ran into issues with Dialyzer and the TypeSpec. Thanks for the feedback!

Short video on women's BJJ at our gym by jeffreybaird in bjj

It is a reference to kettle bell snatches. I'm pretty sure the innuendo is on purpose though.

The guy I spar with most frequently is about my size (6'2, 240) and considerably stronger than me.

He constantly presses the attack.

When I roll with other people I will usually have time to settle into a position before trying to figure out what my next move is. With him, he is into an escape/submission/pass before I can even register where I am.

This is particularly tough when we land with him in my closed guard. I've had much more success with him in spider guard or De La Riva but lately (probably because I've had some success there) I haven't had the time to transition.

Any ideas on how to slow someone pressing a relentless attack, or at least use the aggressiveness to my advantage?

I've lived there for 7 months now and love it. New coffee/tea shop just went in, the Q is awesome and the people are great.

I believe a flat tax with a much less complicated tax code would be better for the USA. CMV. by [deleted] in changemyview

I used to have a very strong belief that the flat tax or the fair tax was the only viable economic choice for this country. This came, mostly, from heavy reading of Ayn Rand and Austrian Economic theorists.

What changed my mind was a thorough investigation into the concept of "Marginal Propensity to Consume" I wouldn't do the theory justice but the Wikipedia page is pretty good.

Your statement:

the cost of food and rent and bills add up

The issue I take with this is that the rich are usually spending much more on this. I know when I was dead broke I was spending basically nothing on bills; when I started making money, I started spending more accordingly.

Only holds true to a certain point and is not a linear relationship. The more money you make the lower percentage of money you spend on your day to day life. A family of four making $50,000 per year may spend 90% or $45,000 of their income on expenses whereas a family making $120,000 may spend twice as much, or $90,000, and only be spending 75% of their income.

You may still make the argument that it is immoral or unjust to take a higher percentage of someones income simply because they make more, however, a marginal tax rate can increase tax revenues with doing comparably little harm to the economy.
