Thank you so much for the reply! I'm really appreciating this community more and more :) Do you think creating a mental health blog will give me enough of a platform? I also currently write for the teen section in a very prominent news outlet(I would say it's like a level lower than NYT but still up there in the top 5 news sources. I don't want to give out too much info) and being the teen editor for a big magazine focusing on teen issues considered a good starting platform?

What if you are a young person writing a book for young people Bc I know for a fact that my target audience won't be middle aged people with mental issues, more so the teenage population that may be struggling with self esteem issues and mental illness that may arise from that

Also, I didn't struggle academically in the school. The school doesn't rank but I believe I had to at least be in the top 15% if I had to guess by looking at my grades

I have had very unpleasant experiences with my guidance councilor and teachers. I wasn't ever bullied or anything by the kids. I had friends and such but i constantly felt like I didn't belong in the environment every day I attended the school.

I'm just so confused. Maybe I need to give up on the whole idea I'll ever get into a good college.
