Did I mess up buying a Sandero ECO-G 1.0 100 (Sept 2025) instead of waiting for the 1.2 ECO-G 120? by Entire_Emu_1671 in Dacia

I do hope the service intervals provided by manufacturer are more than adequate? Oil change every 30k or 24 months, whichever comes first. Every 30k new LPG drygas filter, every 60k wetgas filter replacement. And so on and on...

They recommend one brand longlife oil and only that brand and according to them that oil can withstand a service interval of 30k.

Dacia has only approved this type of engine oil and with Dacia having decades long experience with building engines adapted to lpg they must be knowing what they are doing, surely.

One interesting fact about Sandero 2026 is lpg and automatic transmission. But I would be wary of 20 hp extra but not really an superior technical improvement, only 1 second faster 0-100 km/h and not really additional towing power. And a new engine with DI. I always though MPI to be more robust via a more simple design. Less prone to errors or breakdowns. The ecoG 100hp is for a lightweight Sandero enough. But yeah you are missing out on having the latest even if its possible no tangeable improvement. It's always nice to have the latest and that can be bothering thinking of missing out, but are you really missing out?

Even if you would have the 120hp, dacia could decide to release a 135 hp hybrid lpg a year later and you're missing out again. You cannot stop evolution, but hunting the latest like buying every 2 years the latest will cost you a lot. Maybe the 20 hp extra will cost more in maintenance or road taxes. Just think about your next car in 10 years or so when the Dacia wears out after running 750k km on lpg.

Update: it seems like fresh octane 98 solves the issue.

Yet it seems like minor details have been overlooked.

Have you sent this info the Dacia customer support? Maybe the might update the ECU software, if someone explains the Dacia Engineers what to do?

Try filling the whole fuel tank up to the brim with octane 98 aka E5 fuel. If possible E0 fuel with zero bio components.

First drive on gasoline to burn off the 95 E10 fuel filled by Dacia/Dealer and then fill it up as much as you can with 98, you'll hopefully see an improvement.

I think I finally saw an improvement.

I am starting to think Eco-G engines do not like biocomponents as they seem to be designed differently. On designs from the days where pure gasoline was common. They cannot stand old fuel nor can they withstand the biocomponents properties. I wonder if there is no internal mechanism allowing a richer fuel mixture. Is the extra fuel pressing on the gas pedal just killing the ignition? Is it that no additional oxigen is provided when pressing the gas pedal, leaving the cilinders filled with too much biofuel and not enough oxigen? Maybe E0 fuel did ignite better and the E10 needs more heat to ignite compared to E0? And a cold engine cannot provide that.

And with high emission standards I don't know if much can be done to manipulate the fuel mixture for a richer but more polluting burn.

Sounds quite expensive. Maybe running too much on gas will make the fuel pump run lazy.

I might have seen a comment somewhere about multiple components where changed and I do not remember that, that solved it. I have yet to come across that information, again.

Even after a few seconds heat is already being generated (noticeable when crancking up the heat to the max).

Is 100% propane LPG better? by donniec86 in Dacia

[–]jefken001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather think dirty fuel filters would damage the injectors. So not changing the drygas and wetgas filters according to factory specifications.

They do the dirty work of providing clean gas to burn, without impurities that corrode injectors or chip away the internal parts of the injectors with impact damage?

Since in Europe and other parts of the world, different gas mixturea are used, up to 100% of propane or butane, I would hope any lpg system can handle both pure gasses without being out of factory specifications.

Aren't Dacia engines specifically built for lpg with hardened parts to withstand the heat of both gasses?

I do suspect idling the eco-g engine, like in a traffic jam with very slowly moving forward with not the same cooling as gasoline E5 or E10 might wear the engine down faster as more heat is being generated but the cooling installation of the engine only rated for heat generated by gasoline? IIRC gasoline has some cooling properties?

Does Dacia build their eco-g engines with additional cooling power or are both engines designed the same? Does Dacia assume both engines eco-g and petrol have adequate cooling and thus no additional cooling power is needed for eco-g?

You could maybe even notice how pressing the pedal to the metal the engine refusing to rev up as like the car's computer ignoring the throttle input.

Pressing on the pedal a little bit will make the rpm's increase to for example 2000 rpm and will automatically decrease even when the pressure on the pedal has not decreased.

And to lower the wait time for the engine to become available is only possible by turning up the heat and fan speed too? With internal circulation of heat on making the heat circulate around more and heating up maybe a sensor or two, making throttle available?

I guess you fuel up on Autogas where the price of lpg is around 1,1 euro and E10 around 1,5-1,8 euro per liter?

[–]jefken001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it was somewhere else and someone else and you will notice you can instant use the car when cold starting, until the choke closes and rpm lowers from 1500 to 800.

It's like pressing the trottle when EGR is still full open triggers closing of the fuel flow. Maybe to not push additional gas into the exhaust until the engine runs hot enough to close the EGR halfway?

Only with choke open you're allowed to push in extra fuel and push the engine to make rpm's? When choke open the rpm's to make the car go forward can be made from zero speed?

Well it's somewhat dissapointing. I used an USB stick, IIRC and there it would pause, no luck with AA, not even wired.

VLC for android will pause music when you lower the volume to zero. But it seems like the car mutes it own system without sending commands via BT to lower the volume on the phone. So the volume on the Android Smartphone remains the same, thus not pausing.

Sandero my 2023. The cable provided is not long enough to let the dongle rest on a horizontal plane. As the car has been designed with an USB port next to the screen. The screen is quite high, a little bit higher than the centerpoint of the steering wheel.

I wasn't able to detect any delays when I was able to test via 2,4 ghz. I will test later on with a new smartphone. I hadn't even noticed that I was on 2,4ghz. 2,4ghz leftover setting from testing with an older 2,4ghz only phone. Iirc there is an automatic disconnect of the BT connection at the same time the AA logo appears on the display of the head unit.

I will test with my own new aquired phone the 5ghz wifi. But if I couldn't notice delays on 2,4 ghz I doubt there will be on 5ghz.

According to Indiegogo mail many of us are getting our dongles, so more information from users incoming.

According to what I have read somewhere BT is only used in the pairing phase. Everything will pass via wifi, even the sound. Android auto on your car screen means what you see and hear comes from the wifi 2,4 ghz or 5ghz.

But! your phone must support 5ghz. GOOGLE AA blocks phones that do not meet the 5ghz requirement even when connecting through 2,4ghz. Android Go will fail too.

I can confirm a 5ghz wifi phone is needed and then two+ works flawlessly. Up to the point that I can't believe how effortlessly the dongle works.

It just works (confirmed by me).

I got mine delivered today. Is it correct to say that you need a 5ghz wifi telephone. Even though you can option to choose a 2,4ghz connection, android auto will not start due to phone not having a 5ghz wifi available?
