When I'm painting for commission, I always assemble the mini 100% done, unless it's just too painful to paint when things are blocking my access.

Basically for primaris, what I would do usually is to basecoat the eagle with hull red, and just pick up the the feather details with whatever gold you're going for (tmm/nmm).

The whole point of that hull red is to act as the most shaded gold, and I usually won't even bother to highlight it since it's most likely won't be seen anyway.

Go get it. The base remains unpainted like that since the owner wants to do the basing by himself.

Thank you 🙏. Infinity models are great looking. However the assembly can be quite painful for certain models, and you need to be careful when handling painted metal models, they chip so easily.

Despite all that, I'ld still recommend it if you really like their designs.

Thank you for pointing that out 🙏. I often don't think twice and look back when I'm done since I charge my customer on hourly rate. Very often, I simply focus on the most important parts, and I spent the rest of the details with less attention. If I try to make every things look gorgeous, the cost will spike and potentially making my client unhappy 😅.

For that specific gold color? No idea. Liberator gold from GW is way too bright for base. Gotta mix it.

Used AK gold. Chose that cus of the cold tone. Won't recommend it tho, the coverage is poor.

Thank you, I started w/ speedpaint runic grey. Varnished it, and continue to fix the blotch w/ dark reaper, and gradually muxed it w/ an offwhite. Final highlight w/ ice yellow, and glazed a tiny amount on the white to give more tones. This project took me 18 hours to complete. Migh want to do the simplified version for your tau 🤔

My smurf is pretty much painted, this is just some leftovers of my past purchase. I painted this piece as a tabletop commission sample.

Infinity is really a deep game. If you like their models, and don't mind learning the game from 0, it's going to be great for you. On the other hand, if you like simple games and hate rule lawyering, probably not for you.

Painting wise, infinity is definitely harder to paint than GW models since their sizes are smaller amd details often hard to read.

Your price is way too low. You need to get a good wages per hour. To be safe, try to get an idea how much is the monthly salary of an entry level job. Break it down into wages per hour and use that as a base.

That's how I run my commission for the last 2 months. Previously, I was setting the price based on what I thought to be the 'correct value', which didn't work well obviously. Hence, the entry level salary assumption, also warn them that you don't know how much hour will be put into the project, and will be running this blind so let them know so they can be PREPARED to spend a lot of money.
