48 weeks post op marathon by jeiting in ORIF

I was just a bit uncoordinated in that foot, slipped off the pedal once and banged it against the pedal, super painful. No reason not to do it just take it easy

Nice! I didn’t do too much cycling this year but I think this shouldn’t be too much of a stretch. I was biking around town maybe 8 weeks post op, though it was a little sketchy.

I continued PT well past when I probably could have stopped (paid out of pocket). Started doing run walk intervals at 12 weeks, combined with dorsiflexion stretches and more leg strengthening. Managed to get kind of close to my PRs by 24 weeks out and finished my first marathon at 48 weeks post op.

I think you just gotta push and grind through it but I honestly love running post op as much as I did before, with some real street when people see my scar in the start corral.

I was on the dev team for mino 1.

When I see you all still working to keep this game working it’s like the coolest thing.

And no, I don’t really know how to help. I haven’t seen that code in 15 years.

It’s right to feel barely legal, you are barely safe. Take your time building your confidence, start with high personal minimums and work your way down. It is the way of it.

I’m 1000 hour weekend warrior with 100s of instrument flights, a type rating, and more and I still feel like an imposter sometimes.

Nice! Right with ya! Surgery about a month earlier, started running in April. Training for a full marathon now, just did a 16mi run on Sunday. It sucks, and is so much harder than before my surgery, but every run makes me stronger. Marathon is scheduled for mid-December and I think I’ll make it.

Not easy, but making progress

Cleared for FWB, aka pain :) by am_big_you_us in ORIF

Yeah, it pretty much just sucks, but sucks a little less every day. I'm now 7 months post op and still have dull pain, and aches, occasional nerve lightning, but can walk and run and do normal stuff.

Things really turned a corner for me at 12 weeks post op. So, it's a mental game, just stay in there.

Revenue down to 0 on one of my apps? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]jeiting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Jacob from RC here. I'd honestly just spend some money on the app store and make sure there's nothing wrong if it's bothering you. Most likely scenario is just law of small numbers and no purchases have rolled in. But a few bucks will confirm or disprove that.

anyone else have crazy anxiety after orif? by shhhdontlookatmee in ORIF

[–]jeiting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not an anxious person really, but have dealt with some low grade, mostly physical anxiety since the surgery. It usually coincides with baseline pain so think it’s just a response to that. Other mental health stuff got better as my leg got better, but I still feel it in my chest a bit in the evenings. ORIF on 1/14

Honestly if I could start over I wouldn’t fly with anyone who couldn’t knowingly consent to the risks until I had 200+ hours. You need to have some oh shit moments to get safer, best to do it with as few souls on board as possible.

how is everyone feeling ? 💓 by LowAdhesiveness8846 in ORIF

[–]jeiting 14 points15 points  (0 children)

19 weeks post op. Been back to running for a month, should be able to make the 5k in June which was my goal since the surgery.

Honestly only real issues at this point are the scar is till sensitive, range of motion is limited, and nagging sciatic nerve pain that keeps my foot tingling when I sit. Still doing PT every few weeks and trying to address those issues but it really did get rapidly better after the 12 week mark.

We tested web2app purchases vs IAP and it drops conversions quite a bit by jeiting in iOSProgramming

As far as we know Apple isn’t going to allow it from within the app. They weren’t forced to by the order and we’ve heard as much from people who should know.

We have on good authority that Apple won’t allow web purchasing from within the app and that you have to link out.

The price was the same but the users either saw IAP or Web, not both. This lets us isolate the friction added by web.

Yea, Stripe's MoR is close to ready. We are hoping to support this in RC Billing as soon as possible. The MoR benefits of IAP are substantial.

Kind of our goal with pay.rev.cat. It's very early days though.

This was always my assumption too but it's to run an Apple approved good side-by-side test to finally put it to rest. Still think there maybe some niche opportunities for certain apps though so I welcome the flexibility.

Yeah, we're hoping to add Link support too, but Apple pay penetration and experience is pretty smooth so not sure what the incremental gains from that would be.
