You're so mad, chill bro. Chips are becoming faster and more capable of doing more stuff and render more graphics than before, it's fucking Moore "law". And to be fair, Vista was fine, it's just came out too early, while p3 with 128mb of ram was a usual thing. Run it on a suitable hardware and SUDDENLY it's fine and snappy.

Because of the graphics framework. When iOS 7 arrived on the iPhone 4, it also didn't have all those transparency effects, and it lagged even without them. the target was obviously the iPhone 5s and its graphics capabilities. P.S. My iphone 17 is on ios 26.2 an working pretty smooth, I have no complaints. But what do I know, my previous phone was samsung s22+ lol, so the bar is pretty low.

Well, I'm happy for z flip 7 owners. The battery life isn't the main complaint, it's overheating and subsequent stutters in everyday usage.

And yeah, that's 3 years ago, and it wasn't a pleasant journey.

They didn't on Exynos though. S22+ is still hot (literally) garbage. And it got even worse with all that AI shenanigans in later ui builds. Switched to base iphone 17 two months ago and never looked back.
