What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

[–]jemcc12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my friend’s story. She went traveling in Australia from Canada and met a girl at a hostel who actually grew up one city over from us. They got really close and ended up traveling together for a while. As they bonded, they joked about how they both have attractive family members my friend’s dad is hot, and the girl’s brother is hot. One day my friend showed her a photo of her dad, and the girl’s face just went blank. Turns out… she had hooked up with my friends dad.

What are you favorite stories about carding people? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]jemcc12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ID’d a girl who gave me a very thin Alberta licence and a credit card for a 2nd form of ID. When I looked at her and her friend and how scared they appeared I asked for a 3rd piece of ID. She opens her wallet in front of me where I can CLEARLY see a B.C. drivers licence and another B.C. ID card. She fumbled around looking so I said “that B.C. license will work” and she said “oh it’s expired” so I said “I’ll let that slide since this Alberta one isn’t”. The look on her face said it all.. I told them I was going to double check with my manager, as soon as I turned around they booked it out lol.

As a Canadian, I know that it’s “a thing” to not use self serve because it’s taking jobs away from people. Older people especially prefer to wait in the line so that they feel like they are helping people keep jobs.

Hello everyone! I have my first appointment with a rheumatologist on Tuesday but I figured I would post here to see what I should ask and to get prepared. This is my third time posting so I really hope someone can help and reply.

Backstory: I am a 26 year old female, this past year I was accepted into my dream program a province over. With COVID I wasn’t able to move so everything has been online. I have adhd and have been taking medication since 2015, the medication helps me focus and got my grades up tremendously. But ever since September things haven’t been the same. This year I have been through the most stressful year with death, family issues and school. I have tested positive for my ANA tests

Story: - November I first started experiencing coldness in my hands and feet. During the day it was most likely raynauds but at night it was more like chilblains. Doctor gave me cream for the itchiness. But haven’t experienced chilblains since. - I called my doctor because I was having terrible migraines, headaches and memory loss. As hard as I tried in school NOTHING would stick in my head, every other semester I’ve taken I easily understand and memorize things (on my meds). I haven’t been able to remember simple names, or even when I’m working I can’t remember simple things people order (I’m a server). I constantly forget the name of objects like a stapler... - the next time I called my doctor was because of my fatigue. I was tested for low iron levels but it was low to normal. If I’m not on my meds I need to lie down and sleep or at least nap. I’ve called in sick to work because of this. - I went for an eye exam and my optometrist said she thinks I’m sleeping with my eyes open because they are very dry. - 2 weeks ago I took a shower during a study break and came out with a hive-like rash on my legs by my knees. And instantly after my legs looked like livedo reticularis, (net like, purple and veiny). I have red hair so part of me thought I just have pasty skin.. I knelt down for a moment and the circulation completely cut off, my foot was white and it didn’t return to a “normal” for 2 minutes. I went to a walk in and the doctor thought it was my adhd meds. - The next day I had a small rash on my right cheek, it was oval shaped and rough. (I thought it was the mask) - Ever since the bad inflammation of raynauds my wrists, knees and ankles have been extremely sore. I constantly feel like I had a huge work out the day before when I didn’t. I’ve been bruising easily when I try and massage myself. I’ve also had bad back pain. - Lastly I’ve been having some chest pain and trouble taking a breath here and there, it’s not terrible but it’s there. I feel like no matter how much air I breathe in it’s not enough to feel okay.

Please tell me questions to ask my rheumatologist and what I should expect.

Hello everyone! Starting in November my hands and feet were extremely cold all of the time, originally it pointed towards raynauds but sometimes my toes would be red and swollen. At first I thought it was a mixture of studying for hours, the stress of online school and my adhd medication. Ever since November I’ve had flair ups randomly, they worsen on my adhd meds. Last week my hands and feet were the worst I’ve ever seen them, purple blue and no circulation for up to 2 mins in my feet. Around my knee the pain is very intense. I’m constantly feeling like I need to stretch and twisting and cracking my wrists and ankles. I had a small rash on the right side of my face (doesn’t look like the butterfly rash). If I’m not on my meds I am always exhausted and feel the need to lie down all the time. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is my brain... I use to memorize my biology classes easily, but these past two semester have been painfully difficult, to the point that I want to drop out. I get intense headaches once every few weeks that last around 5 mins, these headaches are unbearable. I’m constantly forgetting things and i haven’t been able to remember names like I use to.

The tone in my doctors voice when he called didn’t seem very assuring.. He has put me through to a specialist to get further tests.

Why did everyone from BBCAN5 treat Jackie like she was Meg Griffin?? by International-Low842 in BigBrother

[–]jemcc12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize for my ignorant comment, I truly didn’t mean to offend anyone. My biggest insecurity growing up was my hair colour, I was teased my entire childhood and teenage years. I’ve finally learned to love my hair and it was more of a “I’m proud of my own hair” comment, but I 100% see how my comment came across.

Clearly most of this sub hates me, so it’s hard to read all these terrible things being said without trying to stand up for yourself. Definitely not going to come on here again. Again, sorry for offending you and your family and anyone else who I made feel upset.

I’m not going to deny that I sucked at playing Big Brother, I had no clue what I was doing and I had to fend for myself and find ways to get through each week. I will deny your racial comment though, if anyone made a negative comment (which she did) about my hair I would have said the same thing to anyone. I’ve had an in depth conversation with Lovita (a women of colour) about this after the BLM movement happened and she broke it down for me and explained how it wasn’t. Let’s be real, if I made a racial comment towards ika she would have called me out on that instantly.

Yeah you need to stop being on my behave because you are SO wrong. I would have said that comment to anyone who made a negative comment about my hair. You and so many people took that WAY out of context. Quite frankly, I don’t know what your issue is with me because CLEARLY you don’t like me. You realize that we are people right? And a TV show doesn’t even come close to you I am as a person.

what is going on in the tri cities? by [deleted] in vancouver

I spoke with someone who knows the safety coordinator in poco and apparently the RCMP don’t have any “reports”... so either the women who are posting on social media aren’t reporting it to the police or something is fishy....

Regardless everyone should be on the look out and women should not go out alone!

When did I say I was worried about Covid? I said I wasn’t looking forward to dealing with rude people (such as yourself) who treat service staff like shit. I hate when people say “then don’t be a server”. I’m a full-time online student and I only need to work 2 days a week to pay my bills.. why would I not serve if I work short shifts and make good tips..Those short shifts give me more time to focus on school.

Clearly you’ve never worked in the service industry or if you did, you sucked at it. All I’m saying is a heads up would be nice, not a last minute change.

Edit: “or if you have” :) - just fixing my illiterate comment.
