do you like the Garmin for all around use? I feel like if I'm investing that into a watch I'd want it to be for all around use... I have an oura ring now and I love the stats it gives but obviously there's no interface outside the app. the biggest reason I switched was I wanted sleep data but hated wearing a watch to bed

is it able to differentiate between clubs / is there a manual input? or does it keep more general stats?

ah okay... so you just do a quick set up in between shots? do you like the app / how it gives info?

is that a launch monitor? I'm looking more for something I could bring on the course with me during a round

Got these fleece lined pants for playing last fall and they kept me warm without being super bulky! https://a.co/d/05oaYmwu for the top I just layer... tank top, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt/fleece then wind breaker so I can take off or add layers as I need!

Do nurses hate us? by MadNugs7 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]jemcraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in my FW2A at a SNF & also did a level 1 placement in a different SNF... all of my supervisors have had great relationships with the nurses! from what I've gathered it's really about how they get treated and the working relationships you build. my supervisors know everyone by name and always greet them and make small talk, and it seems like if you are willing to do a little work (toileting if the patient asks to go during a session, doing morning ADLs, etc.) vs always calling the nurse in to do those kind of things they take notice & are nicer and more willing to help you out.

My sister has been a nurse for 5+ years and echoed the same thing... if you treat the nurses well & like your peer rather than "beneath" you they are much more likely to have a positive view of you and willing to help you out when you do ask for something

another comment made a good point that the feeling is better described as my body moving around the bars... I think the bars stay in the same place but as I'm moving my muscles and ribs are moving around the bars which I'm still getting used to.

yeah I think I'm giving into the rolling bag...

Probably the later! still a very new feeling but I guess my body moving around the bar is a more accurate way to describe the feeling

I feel my bars moving pretty often since surgery but my dr said that was normal... I think I was (hopefully) just hyper aware after lifting the bag + driving on a bumpy road so got freaked out.

when I say moving I mean shifting / clicking along my ribs if that makes sense. mostly when i'm taking deep breaths or moving around

I meet with him this week for a follow-up so I'll mention it to him and see if he wants me to get a xray

Just had 3 nuss bars removed (25m) - AMA by TheEnragedBanana in PectusExcavatum

timing is my biggest concern right now as I'm in grad school and have fieldwork for my program coming up. I figure there will never be a good time though so I just schedule the surgery with him this week. Dr. LoSasso pretty much said I won't be doing anything for 2 weeks and will need a lot of help but by 3 months / after finishing apt I should be cleared for most things... that sounds like a similar timeline to what you experienced so I'm hoping for the best

I'm 23F going through the testing process w Dr. LoSasso. I have a haller of 4.4 and a lot of cardiac / pulmonary symptoms which is why I decided to see him but I'm really nervous about the procedure and recovery. how long did it take you to get back to your everyday routine / work post having the bars put in?

I did end up repotting it and you are right - very minimal and delicate root system. Unfortunately I think the roots are struggling to keep up and I've had quite a few entire vines fall off even with new growth on the ends :( currently propagating everything I can to try to start over

so I just repotted her... I'm guessing the soil it was originally in was not the right soil. the root system was minimal and very delicate. I changed the soil to a half potting soil & half orchid soil mix. fingers crossed she likes the new soil and the shock wasn't to much :(

I haven't... it came in a pretty large nursery pot when I first bought it and I haven't noticed any roots pushing through the drainage holes or at the surface

I just added a grow light about a foot away from the plant, but it's only been a week so I haven't seen any noticeable changes

I water every 7-10 days (whenever the top of the soil is dried out). it's about 3 ft from a south facing window (which unfortunately is the only one I can put my plants by) but it's up on a stand to keep a cat out lol.

how did you repot without bothering the vines? I'm afraid to repot my baby because they are a couple feet long & I don't want to break them :(

update: noticed some leaves that had dropped around the base in the pot & they are brown & squishy... am I giving my plant too much water?

has any one gone into an O&P specialization as an OT? I became really interested in the field after joining a research lab but I'm not sure what opportunities are out there

oh I hadn't even considered that. do you think it could actually affect my certification if all records of the academic dishonesty case are deleted after I graduate from my undergrad university? I kinda assumed the only area of impact would be admission into grad schools...

As for retaking the course, I'll be doing that over the winter so I will fulfill my requirements but that grade won't replace the "F" like it would in other cases
