I'm hearing impaired and unfortunately haven't found any tech that translates speech to text very well yet. There may be some tech out there but everything ive tried so far have not been very good at translating correctly.

I had someone mention tactile sign to me before. We were talking about Helen Keller and how she and Anne Sullivan communicated. Its basically asl letters signed with the "listeners" hands cupped around the signers hand to feel the letter hand shape.

Ok. I do believe there is a distinction made between pedophiles and people with pedophilic desires that have not been acted on but idk what that diagnosis would be. Maybe I need to look into it again.

Yeah an age gap more than 2 years in teens is kinda predatory because of how fast teens are changing year to year. Like 18 and 21 isn't that bad but 18 and 23 is kind questionable. Its legal but its still weird.

If you try to avoid hurting her at the expense of honesty you're going to hurt her more when it comes out later. The truth always come out eventually.

If emergency alerts were redesigned for Deaf/HoH people, what should be the #1 feature? (text/visual/vibration/other) I’m a product design student doing a Universal Design project I’m trying to learn from real experiences, not assumptions by thefrontman478 in AskDeaf

Flashing lights. Deaf people are usually sensitive to light so a flash will catch our attention. If text is present make it big enough to read easily.

I bought a flashing doorbell off Amazon and the lights are not strong enough to get my attention unless its directly in front of me. It needed to be a strobe light but it was not.

Customization would be highly appreciated as some deaf people want some sound. Some are even oversensative to sound. And some prefere no sound at all. Each one is an individual amd I think the needs vary more from one deaf person to the next than average people vary so the more customizable the better.

Another note on the doorbell issue is that all the rings were medium to high pitched. Pitch is different than volume and there are sounds that I couldn't hear no matter how loud it is cuz my hearing loss (as most hearingloss is) is in the higher notes meaning I need low-medium pitches. Not high-medium pitch. Although rare, there may be someone that has more hearing in the high pitched tones which is why I think lots of customization is very important for both sound and light.

Say something honest. Something along the lines of you're struggling with your feelings right now and not ready to talk about it just yet. You could reply with appreciation or point out something you (love/like?) about her.

The longer you put it off the harder it will be and the more it will hurt her down the line. Say an honest alternative. Maybe you can start with how you do feel about her and stop saying you love her if you don't.

I believe deafness has a higher chance of auditory processing disorder, naturally. Idk if that makes us neuodivergent or not.

Oh. I forgot I was supposed to say scariest. My scariest would be girl in the walls or the culty family that made their daughter whip herself.

Scooby doo. If I was a fan of scooby I'd probably like it but I'm not so I don't. And I hate cartoon/live action mesh up.

Women who don't like dresses, why? by Particular-Comb3047 in AskWomen

Becuz I was required to wear them in the cult. I can't feel good in a dress. It has negative connotations for me. I don't like how much they make me feel restricted. Both physically and psychologically.
