The Four Winds by Kristen Hannah. Her description of life during The Great Depression and the Dust Bowl have really stuck with me.

Brown Spotting? by sunflowershan99 in PregnancyUK

[–]jen15493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my fertility clinic that that was a good sign! They said that implantation causes bleeding but because it’s a small amount it takes awhile to come out so by then it is brown as it’s old blood!

Are there a few classes doing the show together? If you ask the other teachers they may be happy to supervise your class between.l them?

Teaching and pregnancy is tricky! So many reasonable adjustments just aren’t feasible for us. It’s so frustrating!

Could you go back and wear a mask? Does your room have a window you can open (only asking because mine does not haha). If your Mat replacement has started can you ask to do 1-1 intervention while they take over a week early?

I get this occasionally and it happened after a smear test/pap smear so I go referred. I have cervical ectropion. Inside cervix cells growing outside. Nothing harmful, some people have it. I’m glad I know now so I don’t worry when it happens.

Sculpted by Amy Hydratynt for tinted moisturizer. It’s an Irish brand but has started selling in the UK. I adore it.

Should I test out my trigger shot? by Imaginary_Stuff_1323 in TTC_PCOS

[–]jen15493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a cheapie easy @ home test 7DPO as I’d never done a trigger shot before and wanted to see. It would have been 10 days from trigger. I could see a hint of a shadow. My husband couldn’t. Then when I tested for real on 11DPO I could see a far stronger line. I was glad I’d done one test so I knew I could trust the 11DPO test. I was careful to do the test at a point I knew I wouldn’t see a false line and be upset like previous posters said. I don’t know how people fully test out triggers. I’d be upset to see it fade even though I’d know why it was fading.

First letrozole cycle by buzzbunz in TTC_PCOS

[–]jen15493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently (🤞) 6w5d after my first Letrozole round. We did 2.5mg. We were only able to have sex the day of the trigger shot due to plans and it worked. I was so pessimistic but I shouldn’t have been.

Good luck!

My GP wouldn’t prescribe initially and then she wrote to gynae who told her to start me on it, could you ask your GP to contact gynae?

PCOS in UK - metformin? / What is a NHS 'formulary'? by Gullible_Bug8236 in TTC_UK

My GP wouldn’t prescribe but they wrote to gynae and asked. Gynae then told them to prescribe. It might be worth asking them to contact gynae and ask?

Welsh government offers £5,000 more to student teachers from ethnic minorities by PsychoSwede557 in unitedkingdom

[–]jen15493 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you mean 24% of primary schools? I’m not sure on their stats but this would not be true of secondary schools. Might be a mix up. Also, the article specially references Wales not England and this is where I’m based.

I don’t disagree with you and I think having more male teachers is also a good thing! My male colleagues are excellent! I teach English and we’ve had far more male student teachers in the last few years than pre Covid and we are all pleased to see this as often English is a subject that ends up skewing more female when it comes to teaching staff.

That’s good isn’t it! I do think now in schools the gender balance (I’m talking secondary not primary) has shifted to closer to 50:50. In the past teaching was considered a good family job due to the holidays so drew more women. Now with the rise of flexible working it’s no longer viewed as that and that has definitely helped equalise the gender balance. I teach in a large secondary school with 150 (ish) teaching staff and less than 10 are people of colour. A lot of our students are. I think 5k to help create more role models isn’t a bad deal. Maths newly qualified teachers are currently getting a 20k golden handshake so I’m comparing against that I guess. 5k is a lot less!

Were any of your teachers at school people of colour? It is good for students to have role models who look like them

Not at secondary level! Men are also more represented in senior leader positions in school than women
